That can be said about any next-gen JRPG since we don't know the first thing about X |
But we know plenty about Xenoblade and X is from the same developers.

Also, some multiplat games
That's already about a dozen major games, and Nintendo is infamous for not announcing stuff until as late as possible. This should easily be the best year for Nintendo console fans since 2010. |
There´s still a mysterious new franchise that Miyamoto is currently working on and another mysterious project that Retro started after finishing DKCR:TF. So expect a few more surprises next year.
There are a few third party efforts coming besides those you wrote, too: Lego City Movie, Child of Light, Taiko no Tatsujin WiiU, Formula One

I was thinking specifically in terms of an existing franchise from a developer getting a much bigger installbase on a new platform. If X is anywhere near the quality of Xenoblade, is released in a timely matter, and is not hindered by the lack of availability that Xenoblade was, it could easily sell 2 million copies worldwide.
Love and tolerate.

I'm expecting Retro's mystery game to, along with Zelda Wii U, be the core lineup of the system in 2015.
You're right, there will be plenty of 3rd party support for at least some types of games. I just was focusing on what seemed to be "major" 3rd party titles. THat said, I forgot all about Taiko no Tatsuji!
Love and tolerate.
Of course it won't be discontinued. A company would only do it with a console/handheld if they decide to leave the market like Sega. If 3DS and Wii U had flopped, then maybe they would be forced to leave, but even then I think Nintendo would survive (now, two gens in a row with both flopping would be to much).
Let's say Wii U does GameCube sales level (that's pretty much the worst case). Then, Nintendo will probably launch a successor in 2017-2019 and discontinue Wii U a year latter.
So it is secure. About sales, I don't see it improving a lot. The launch of both competitors with tons of AAA exclusives and massive third party launches with a lot of advertisement and stealing all media attention will probably kill any chance to reach higher sales.
"2014 has by far the BEST lineup (atleast in my opinion) of exclusives in gaming history."
theoretically I wouldn't bother to reply to that since it's fine if you think so, but I heard this sentence (with changed date) so often I just need to make clear that a lot can still change.
Especially Nintendo who delayed their HD games quite often in the past. Don't expect everything to make the cut.
Wii U`s recente fortunes, or misfortunes if you will, are the result of things that take time to resolv.
When you don`t prepare games to come out on a timely basis, such strategy takes time to be corrected;
When people don`t know about your console, it takes time to show people what it is and what it does.
Slowly, people`s perception on Wii U has been changing and that´s a very positive sign.
It`s not because of graphics suddenly improved for Wii U, but because the games shown by Nintendo interested gamers and things like slow OS have also been improved.
For next year, Wii U does have a great exclusive line-up. But that`s just the stuff we know. And even then, no one really knows a lot of those titles.
8 titles that can make for a good and steady release schedule, when XB1 and PS4 will probably be facing droughts.
I believe there`s more to come for Wii U and hope/believe that things will only improve.

See: the PS4 version of CoD: Ghosts outselling the Wii U version in the UK charts even though the PS4 isn't even out yet, lol. Wii U is basically a non-factor. Nintendo's challenge this gen is really going to boil down to how many of the casuals they grabbed with the original Wii they can convince to come back and pay $200+ for a Wii U in the post iPhone world. |
sure, because it would be so different if ps4 had already released, in regard to already preordered games (rollseye). this is such a low excuse for an argument that even I got surprised.
I highly recomend you to NOT speak for other people, especially when what you say is the opposite of what those people would say.
