Ehm, no, what he does is explain what he sees as pros with PS4 compared to X1, not what features they both offer. A much more professional way too meet a customer would be:

If someone comes in to the store and ask which console they should buy, the answer could instead be:

"Well, it´s a matter of what you prefer. First off, these two consoles are a great leap from the current generation so you won´t go wrong either one you buy.

The PS4 at 399$ is a great value offer and when you add PS Plus to that you also receive free games on a regular basis. The controller is a great step up from PS3 and it now also incorporates a touchpad. If you add the PSEYE your gaming experience expands quite alot since new features becomes available with your controller and what you can do. You will get all the multi-platform games along with the 1st party titles that are incredible experiences. Sony are known for the quality in their 1st party titles so you can never go wrong with that.

The X1 at 499$ includes the new and improved Kinect right in the box. This enables you to use the X1 as a gaming console with added functions, but also control  other devices to some degree in your room with X1. You can skype and play games at the same time with something called "snap mode". The controller has improved the D-pad and also added rumble to the triggers to give you a more immersive experience. The multi-platform games will be there and MS are betting hard on their 1st party titles during their first year."

Now the customer has the decision in their hands. You can still ask them about their motives for getting one instead of the other. The way the OP presents it only means he want a motivation in the case that the customer chooses X1, which is kind of strange.

You should read the OP again. The guy asked me what I was getting and why so I told him. This is different then him asking me what should he get, in which I would respond "Well here are the Pros and Cons of both" to let him weigh it out for himself (which I have explained several times already in various posts in this thread).

I never mention my issue with his conclusions to him, I'm just revealing them to you all.

I have read the OP and your responses to other peoples reaction in this thread and I think you are making it to easy for yourself. Let me put it this way instead:

You think it´s a bad argument to get a console just because your friends are getting one, and I totally agree. Wouldn´t it be just as bad for someone that works at a game store too steer a customer towards one offer by only giving them the benefits of their preferred console? You can still tell the customer what your preferred choice is while still emphasizing that both consoles had alot to offer and it´s a matter of what that person like most about each one that should guide their decision. You then give them a rundown on what both offers and you have given them both what you prefer but also what experiences both consoles offer.

You are far from alone, I get this from alot of stores wherever I go (be it consoles, smartphones, other electronics). I would just like that the reaction I get from an employeee was more focused on me as a consumer and less on their own personal taste since that part is so irrelevant. And the professional way to handle it is ALWAYS to steer the conversation towards the customer, not myself.
