I still haven't bothered to buy an HDTV yet. The old TV still works, and I haven't really had a need to spend the money to upgrade.

I did buy a house recently, so now I actually know what size space I need to account for. Maybe I will upgrade in the next few months...

So you have never HD gamed this gen?

I've played a lot of 360 games and a few PS3 games over at friends' houses.  I have only ever felt the need to own a Wii this past gen though.  So I am really not missing much by not having an HDTV when I only own a Wii.

Sub-1080p is unacceptable for me on a console.

Ahh ok i understand now

Not very important, is just nice to have, but I can work with sub-hd perfectly fine.

I have a 60" Plasma at about 6' viewing distance so I really want better resolution.

Around the Network

I started gaming on black and white 13 inch TVs.

It doesn't really matter.

I am lucky enough to have a large screen so it is very noticeable to me, but even graphics themselves are about so much more than just resolution.

240p 3D > 4K HD 2D

In image quality in every way, from clearity to anti-aliasing to vividness to beautyness to stunningness to all the colors looking like the exact same colors to brighter looking (because even though you lose 3/19 the brightness per eye, your brain makes up the difference per eye, making cinemas lok like 22 labarts in 3D when its actually 16 lambarts)

So once I watch something in 3D, the resolution is of no longer any concerne to me.

@forest-spirit

You should get a 3DS or 3DS XL, because 240p 3D is greater then 4K HD 2D, as I have already explain in an earlier comment I have posted in this thread.

Contrary to popular belief, an opinion can in fact be wrong.
