That's great to hear.

The amount of people I heard saying it wouldn't come close.

A german website said you need a over $1000 PC to beat the graphics of PS4 targeting 60fps.

Well. Untill Mantle launches anyway.

Battlefield 4 Review - Next Gen Impressions

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/435687/battlefield-4-xbox-one-vs-ps4-critics-claim-sonys-version-shines-brightest/

In CVG's Battlefield 4 review, we wrote "there's an indisputable star of the show here, it's plainly the all-new, all-singing, all-shooting Frostbite 3 engine that blazes out at 900p on PS4 (and at 720p on Xbox One)".

"Both versions looked stunning, though the consensus was that the PS4 version definitely shaded it," it wrote.

VideoGamer, meanwhile, claims the game "looks stunning - especially on PS4". It adds: "It's eye-gogglingly beautiful, laced with breathtaking lighting and particle effects, and offers a significant visual and mechanical step up over the current-gen version".

Eurogamer adds: "Based on what we've seen so far, the Microsoft console manages to hold up despite the undeniable, quantifiably worse metrics [compared to PS4] in terms of both resolution and frame-rate."

However, Polygon points out that "neither console is rendering Battlefield 4 at a native 1080p resolution", and suggests the difference isn't as discernable.

It adds: "The PS4 version is somewhat sharper than the Xbox One release. Other than that, the two games look very similar over the course of Battlefield 4's single-player campaign, with the same lighting and frame-rate throughout."

I actually read the article.

What the OP failed to post was,

Although PS4 has a better resolution, The Xbox One looks crisper thanks to a much better upscaler inbuilt into hardware. Also Xbox Ones Textures have more detail.

Why did the OP leave this out?

So Less aliasing on PS4 vs better textures and crisper image on Xbox One.

You'd be grasping for the longest straw, selnor. EVERY reviewer has called the PS4 the better looking title. I mean every single one (that reviewed those versions, that is).

This isnt a review first of all.

2nd of all the op posted an article from DF. But left half the article out.

This thread is about DF. They dont review, they analise. Their analisis says that the Xbox One has more detailed textures and a crispier image albeit with more aliasing.

How am I grasping at straws. Thats what Digital Foundry says.

I have never claimed BF4 to be the best looking game.

I have said all along the Xbox One is harder to develop for. And have always said First party will show what Xbox One can do. Hence I have always said Ryse will get best console visuals of the year. It is the best looking console game Ive ever seen this year. THIS year.

Their "analysis" puts the PS4 ahead of the X1, again, no matter what spin you choose to put on it. I brought up reviewers because they back up DF's article.

What?

There is NO SPIN!

Digital Foundry wrote those words. Not me, not Microsoft. Not anyone else.

The title and OP of the thread, makes it sound like the BF4 version on PS4 was a landslide victory. When clearly its end reult is negligable. Reminiscant of Multiplats this generation for PS3 and 360.

Your trying to hard.

How am I trying hard when it is you that is challenging the article and bottom line? He could have added what you're so hung up over, sure, but it wouldn't have changed what is already solid: the PS4 wins this Face-Off. Resolution, framerate, AO. All ahead. Reviwers have corroborated those findings.

I'd "try" to accept that, buddy.

Buddy, I havent not accepted anything. If the PS4 version is SOOOOOO far ahead, why leave out 3 paragraphs where Xbox One leads?

PS4 wins that is clear. But its not as much as the OP makes out. The article at Digital Foundry ( which is what we are discussing here ) clearly makes that point.

So you're arguing extents, now? OK. If you're that annoyed by it, PM the OP (or see if he responds here).

I was waiting for his response here. But you came at me. I didnt post anyting that wasnt in the original article that the OP posted a link to. It just didnt appear in the OP.

Is this cheap PC future proof? This means will I be able to play games in 2017 at 720p to 900p? I dont think so.

His graphics card is 4 years old. (Exactly the same as a Radeon 5770.) and with a 6-7 year old processor.
Thus, it's already had a relatively long life.

I also have a good gaming PC. But I prefer consoles. Plus all of my friends are at PSN.

And that is where you are wrong, they are using the same textures for both versions, differences in screenshots if down to the randomly loaded textures, for god knows what reason they decided to have ground and camo textures generate randomly.

The hardware upscaler applies an aggressive sharpen to the video signal before spitting it out to the TV, this is why textures "look" sharper, but also why the aliasing looks even worse than 720p 360/ps3 games, because theres no refinement, its simply sharpening the whole screen, imperfections too.

PS4 is using software upscaling without a sharpening process in place, so much smoother aliasing and a slight blurryness to the overall image from the upscale, however if you adjust the sharpness setting on your TV (most modern ones have this option) then you can do the same as the hardware upscaler does, and the outcome will be the exact same crispness of image, but with a better resolution and a more stable framerate.

I have posted images in this thread multiple times showing the games side by side when a simple brightness and sharpness adjustment is made, and they look identical in everything except for image quality, where the PS4 obviously leads due to less aliasing.

But, and i stress this, the textures used on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions, are *EXACTLY* the same.
