just watched ign video where it gets to multiplayer, man, things were close but fairly obvious in campaign but multiplayer the xbox one looks atrocious, the upscaler sharpening filter makes the already bad jaggies ten times worse.

I found the IGN article of the comparison... weird because I found the video first lol

However, I can give you some impressions based on my time with the PlayStation 4 multiplayer and single-player. Purely from a gameplay perspective, I can say with confidence that Battlefield 4 on PlayStation 4 and PC are equally excellent. The two are visually comparable, with minor detail differences if you’re really trying to pick it apart. The single-player and multiplayer look beautiful, and DualShock 4 is the best thing to happen to PlayStation in terms of first-person shooters. The analog sticks give you much more room for precise movements than the PS3's DualShock 3, whose sticks I've always felt are a bit clumsy. With aim/fire moved back to the redesigned L2/R2, you’re now pulling a trigger rather than pushing a button. It just feels more natural than hooking my index fingers over the PS3 controller’s bumpers. I’ll probably use this controller to play PC games for the foreseeable future. |
They did say that the game was not full available (Xbone) and it had frequent crashes and connectivity problems (PS4)... nothing about graphics between PS4 and Xbone.
weird the ps4 seems to have the same type on contrast/brightness as the ps3 does (go to 360 vs ps3 videos of games and ull notice it has the same too) i prefer the darker look the 360/x1 has, note im not saying the x1 version is better overall cause its not, obvious jaggie/resolution problems
anyways i just want to play the damn thing

Why not post the bottom half of the article where they say the textures are surprisingly better on the XB1? |
Because. Text follows agenda.

Yeah, clearly a higher resolution, much better foliage alpha and more stable framerates along with it is just down to lazy coders.
Generally both look way too aliased in my opinion. Is AA off currently?! Also, what is wrong with the video at 6:02?! Why does PS4 lack the big detail on the building?

skim a few frames back, the light is on - just down to timing of the record as in that section of the game the lcd billboards on the surrounding billboards change.
XBone current gen confirmed!!!! :)
But seriously, the resolution differential is pretty much as expected given the power difference between the consoles. PS4 is 50% more powerful, and outputs 50% more pixels. I think this is going to be typical of titles going forward.

Oh yes, thanks. That happens if you fast skip through YT :)

Just like I said in another thread, although the PS4 version is superior on paper, I don't see almost any difference and I even would say that the X1 version looks a bit better to my eyes on that video.
