It's a base-level tactic intended to discredit all rumors, true or false. Politicians do something similar, where they'll take a rumor they know is false, tear it apart, then use that to say, "see, all the rumors are false, created by our opponents to attack us," even when they know another rumor might be on target. The same with trying to convince people that anyone on the other side of the argument has been "paid". It's an attempt to forge a one-sided perception that paints opposing voices as disreputable.

Knowing that will change anything in anyone's life? I don't believe so. The only thing I know is that this rumor has been offically dismissed by MS, so I guess we all should move on to the next rumor that will almost certainly show up about some kind of problem on Xbox One's hardware/software.
That doesn't have anything to do with the OS.

i'm sorry. i've been trying to stay clear of these rumors for the most part but spencer didn't say anything to dispute the rumor.

if they really want to dispute the rumors,... put up some live footage of the OS. it's been over a month since penello said a demo was coming soon. we're under a month until the thing launches. you don't find that the least bit worrying, especially when people reporting the rumors of "a fucking mess" have a really good record of accurate leaks...

Its not that they think the Sony drones are making up the rumours, its that theyre getting annoyed at the constant bragging and straight up irritating bullshit they keep spouting off as "fact" while trying to win the classic epeen war of my console is better than your console before said consoles have even released.
The OS needs to function in order to play games...

The ONLY next gen console to do so.
The rumour is not only about the OS. The rumour says that Xbox Live is messed up. He is saying that they are playing multiplayer games every night. Feel free to believe what you want to believe.
The romour will not mean shit to me until the Xbox One launches, people apply the update, and then the OS is still buggy and crap. Right now, it is an unreleased product, meaning anything on it can be unfinished.
