Heh, I guess I should just pick random numbers more often. I fear I may have lowballed next gen though, which is worrying.

But I believe I'm still in with a shout of winning this thing, at least some catergories!

I think everyone underestimated next gen console sales....well at least their debut weeks. For all we know PS4/XBO could sell something as little as 200k weekly for the rest of the year.

I think this holiday it has nothing to do with games pushing hardware, or even how much demand is there.   This even includes Europe for MS.  It will be about supply and I wonder if MS has 1.5m ready for launch week.  If they do it will sell it.   The fact that they switched from 22 to 13 countries makes me think they don't have the 1.5m .   I would agree with your number and put it close to 1.3m

Maybe, I don't think MS will rush production as much as they did with the 360. They don't want another RRoD issue. However I do think Supply and Demand will play an important role, PS4 might sell their supply, despite the higher demand then XBO, but XBO might not sell their supply, even with only 13 countries to sell to.

P.S. I hear one of the big reasons why MS is only launching the XBO in 13 countries is because they don't have time to set up and test the dashboard to work in the native languages of those countries.

Damn If I didnt mess the ps4 up I would have been first this week :( Least I came first in the Sony department.

Considering you came first in the Sony department, I would blame 3DS for your second overall place.

BTW....my Sony list might have an error. You got 42 points for PS4, but only 14 points for Sony (which is what your PS3/PSV add up to). I may not have updated the Sony tab to include PS4......So you're not first on the Sony front

I'll fix this for next week.

I overestimated 3DS predictions. Since Pokemon the 3DS has been kinda leveling out, instead of soaring like mad like Nintendo systems usually do in the holidays. I'm worried 3DS won't be up YoY now, it's struggling in Japan due to the release of Animal Crossing in 2012.

450-500k in Europe isn't happening. I just don't see it. I'm worried MS won't reveal their WW numbers due to being afraid Sony will top them by a lot next week. I expect them to announce the US number, and then VGC will estimate the EU number (which I expect to be off - news reports are coming in from English speaking countries where Xbox always does well so they will extrapolate that to the rest of EU, which will simply be wrong).

XBO might not do well in Europe as a whole, but it will do amazing in the UK. I think it's possible for the XBO to get 250k in the UK alone, but 200k for the rest of Europe will be hard, especially since it's only selling the XBO to 11 countries in the EU.

You might be right about official launch week numbers, MS will likely announce USA/UK numbers, but not week 1 as a whole.
