Seriously, I don't know how many games are starting to do this but it is kinda annoying. I've noticed it in TLoU and now Beyond (I want to say GoW:A too). Can leaving the manual out of the packaging really save that much money? I mean... I would flip through them on occasion and sometimes notice a feature about the game I've never knew about. They aren't extremely important to me. However, I just feel like it is expected and a part of them game. When it is missing I feel like the packaging isn't complete. For example, I saw Mass Effect trilogy at a local used game shop with nifty packaging and my eyes lit up but then I opened the case and it looked like a pretty thick booklet was missing so I decided to pass (I might get it if its still there when I beat other games)

ulgh...

It saves them a few cents per sold copy but then they add stupid health information or product information etc.....

In case of GTA5 its like 20m copies x 10 cents. = 2million dollars. (color manuals slightly more)
They are greedy thats it. Same with Nintendo and bluray publishers etc (they add holes to their cases .......)

Btw better make your poll  "Do want manuals to be included" or something.   I dont care about the exclusion because I want it included. But then your question also might mean does it bother you  in this case YES....

Well, if you can access the manual in-game like the Wii U, I don't really see the point.

That is a better question. I'll change it

Translations, different graphics designers.. printing costs, distribution from the printer to the disc distributor.. surely it saves at least 100.000 dollars depending on amount of pages.. especially in Europe

I hate to say it but manuals are pretty much a thing of the past. The most you get now is pretty much one sheet that explains the controls.

The only reason I want the manual is for collection purposes. It makes the package look more complete. But I can see why they would choose to leave them out. Games these days practically teach you how to play in-game. Way back before, you could not even play some games without the manual.

I miss the manuals. I was very disappointing when I opened up WWHD on the shitter and there was no little gold book inside to read and get me hyped to put the game in the disc drive after I wiped my ass. The games industry is falling apart.

But they are getting millions. they really cant add something that costs a couple of cents to a $60 purchase? I would gladly pay $60.10 if they made game manuals a requirement.

Well, in the past game manuals could be entertaining on their own and add value to the whole package. I think that shouldn't be underestimated. Also they can contain hints, can show other angles into story or details and so on. I think they can be cool if made good - as it was in the past. So yes, maybe I'm a thing of the past.
