I never read manuals. For collection purposes they're neat and I would like them to continue. but games have in game help files, and tutorials which negate their point. So then it's in there for mostly aesthetic reasons.

Of which company's can market collectors editions/or give preorder bonus's like with catherines art book/sampler for people that care about aesthetics and make more money.

Nor is there a huge uproar over the games that don't have it which pretty much guarantees there demise.

I miss the manuals. The backstory could really get you hyped before you started the game.

Personally, I don't care for manuals. Never open them for any electronics really.

But I've come to expect them inside as a standard feature of the product. If this becomes the norm, I will certainly take notice.

fine with me.  just 1 less thing (time hundereds of millions of units a year) to be thrown in a landfill.

In theory I want the phisical manuals to be there but in practice I never read them. Eerything is explained in-game nowadays, every single game has a mandetory (or at least optional) introduction tutorial for dummies.

I definitely miss manuals. I've always considered them as part of the "presentation" of the game. The information inside, the comics, the jokes, the hints, the artwork -- all this and more functions as a nice introduction to the game and the developers who made it.

I miss good manuals, maps and other extras that used to be included.

A nice color manual with concept art, a bit of back story, is always appreciated. Perfect to browse during installation and day 1 patch downloads. Or to check out how the game works before you get home.

Plus who did not like the art booklet that came with Catherine?
Or the neat little touch of folding a crane while Heavy rain was installing?

I always feel a little bit disappointed when I open the box and there are only advertisement leaflets in there next to the disk. Especially with those cheap flimsy game cases nowadays that have half the plastic removed.

Manuals used to be awesome! They had some backstory and art in them that wasn't present in the game, but now they're probably better off being gone. However I would prefer the one page manual over them printing shit on the back of the cover art! They need to stop doing that

Ever since the psvita I have not cared a single time for manuals.( The digital versions are just as good if not better)
