"Out of all the next-gen fighting games we currently know about"

Not being funny here, I enjoy fighting games, but what other next gen fighter have been announced?

Smash Bros.

Smash isn't fighting.

I can't be the only one that laughed when he said it's the best next gen fighter announced right? It's the ONLY next gen fighter announced. Any others that I can think of that are on next gen consoles are also on PS3/360.

Then Microsoft have the timing right. KI is getting great previews and hands on. Plus it has little competition. Id say Microsoft timed the reboot spot on. Alot of competitive fighting fans will check it out. It could well blow up and become a phenomenon.

By "blow up" i'm guessing he means the competitive scene.

The problem with that is that... I think most of the competitive e sports fighting fans are on the Playstation due to the better D-pad. (Not all pro's tend to get official/prosticks.)

This might cause them to pick up an Xbox One if it ends up  being any good.

Killer Instinct has a high barrier of entry. Newbs will become overwhelmed when the arcade style fighting fans get the game. They lied when they said the game has a low barrier of entry because in this title that mostly depends on whom you're playing against. Its harder this time to do combo breakers. I dont find this version of KI to be half as stylish but I think I can have some sort of fun with it.

The hands on impressions ive read do differ from what you say.

I love the videos of old KI fans playing this new one. They are so happy at the end, like someone just gave them all gold bars.
