So let me get this straight, It's Nintendo's fault that I have to go multiple stores to find a 3rd party game that is readily available from that same 3rd Party developer on competing platforms.

Surely you understand that it's not a third-party-publisher's fault that a retailer doesn't want to buy their title because shelf space has been reduced for the console because no-one is buying the games for it?

Save for developing more exclusive, AAA titles which would be financial suicide, there's little more a third-party-publisher can do other than develop titles for the platform.  Sure, they can advertise them more, but maybe WB didn't advertise Injustice for Wii-U because hardly any retailers were stocking it?

To bring a parallel: I blame Sony entirely for Vita's lack of retail shelf space in the UK.  When I can't find a copy of, let's say Dragon's Crown, in Tesco/ASDA/Sainsbury's, I don't shift the blame to NISA for not forcing the title on these stores that clearly don't want it.

@Kresnik (Trying avoid making a bigger quote pyramid)

You make a good point, but you are missing something. Injustice released April 3rd. Wii U shelf space certainly wasn't an issue then. Hell that was during the post launch software drought.

Who ever you blame for Nintendo's third party woes, once a publisher decides to put a game on platform. It's there responsiblity to make sure the game is actually available for purchase. It is also that publisher's responsibility to make DLC available. You want to blame Nintendo for not getting more third party titles on their platforms? By all means, but at some point publisher has to have some modicum of responsibility.

You say some modicum of responsibilty, yet in every post we can only read that 3rd parties are to blame and Nintendo is the victim. It is hard to find games because like Kresnik said, Wii U and Vita are being pushed out of shelves and second thing - since almost no gamers buy the games, the 3rd party publisher can't reasonably issue hundreds of thousands of copies so that they are available in every single store, cause it's financial suicide. Who's fault is it that publishing games in high volume on these platforms is suicide? Nintendo's and Sony's. I believe that the fortune's of both consoles can be turned, but the burden is on the manufacturers, not the 3rd parties. Nobody in their right minds can say that they have been handling their consoles in a proper way thus far, 3rd parties are doing everything they can to survive and find profit. It's not their duty to suffer losses so that a platform may flourish when the manufacturer doesn't really care that much.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

@Scisca

As I said in prior post. Injustice released April 3rd. I bought it launch day. There were no shelf space issues on April 3rd. So why did I have to go to three different stores just to find a copy? Better question, why did the first two stores I went to not have enough copies to fill there Wii U pre-orders? It's one thing not to send copies because the retailers aren't buying it, but when they do order them and you can't fill them? Who know's how many stories I would have went to if I didn't have the manager at the second store call around for me. It's not like I live out in the boonies. I was shopping for the game in Charlotte, NC.

Side note: I posted all of this back in April

Back in April when the Wii U was (Still is) selling terribly?  Data for sales of launch titles came back, hell we had them here back then and they're not pretty.  Hell Vita ports of the same titles sold quite a bit better.  So why again should third parties justify sending a ton of Wii U Injustice copies when retailers will want insurance?  In this case it's best to send the bare minimum to minimize losses since the game was in development when Wii U sales of everything was an unknown.  Though, to be fair on your end, they should have atleast filled their pre-order orders.  Though I'd like to know in what shipments games need to be sent to major retailers.  The next order up from minimum might have been way too large.

At launch, I knew Injustice for Wii U was going to tank. I went to three Gamestops and they had 4 copies. Not per store, but 4 copies between the three of them. I honestly wonder what was the point. Given those sort of numbers, why even bother porting the game in the first place. Even if they sold every copy shipped, it doesn't seem worth the investment.

Games go into development early.  They might have started work a year before launch, if not earlier.  Wii U was unknown, most third parties took a chance and got no returns.  Game was also slated for a later release, but then sales came back for launch titles, and they weren't pretty.  If Wii U software sales were up they might have shipped more copies, but everything was tanking.  They either relase strong; but cause huge losses due to price cuts (Which are reimbursed), or just send the bare minimum.  No way the game's ever gonna make its budget back.  Do what causes the least amount of losses.  Isn't it on the eshop as well though?  I haven't really looked at the retail releases other than the virtual console stuff.  But if it's there they're probably expecting anyone who would care to just buy it digitally (Or not, no idea if it's available digitally).

It's on the eShop but I prefer physical copies.

Should have come to the Best Buy I work at, we got 5 copies and have sold 3 since the game came out.  We actually get alot of copies for the first shipment of Wii U games even though they unfortunately sit on the shelves untouched for months.
