I have a game that has not been named in this thread and costs only $7 from GameStop online.

The Metascore is not impressive and I have not played this game or discussed it with anyone who has. Just hear me out on this one.

Back on the PS1, a studio called Genki made this pretty alright game called Jade Cocoon. I never played it, don't know much about it. My understanding is that it's a JRPG with somewhat similar mechanics to Ni No Kuni. The PS2 saw a sequel, Jade Cocoon 2, and then the series dropped off the face of the Earth, never to be seen again.

The games did not sell very well and they seem pretty niche. Nonetheless, I have a friend who apparently loved the games and who discovered that Genki was still around, and may have made what he called "the closest thing we'll ever get to Jade Cocoon 3." He hasn't had a chance to get it or play it yet, so hopefully someone else can fill us in on whether or not this game lives up to that potential.

The game is Spectrobes: Origins for the Wii. I can't exactly personally recommend it, but it's cheap and if you like JRPGs (or Jade Cocoon in particular), you could probably do a lot worse.

Just... keep in mind that it's a Disney game... on the Wii... and keep your expectations in check. Surely it's not one of the best games of the generation, but it certainly is hidden.

Battleblock Theater for XBLA

Spec Ops: The Line. This game completely took me my surprise. Fantastic story and characters, along with superb voice acting. The gameplay was good, nothing special, but the narrative and pacing are very well done. I love a game that makes you feel for the characters or their resolve. Truly, it was an experience the like of the Last of Us or The Walking dead. I recommended to all.

That's where I got my copy from it also comes with a code for the first DLC for free.  The only way I could have gotten a better deal if I would have found a used copy under $13 dollars but when I bought it I didn't see any used copies and it was the same price used at Gamestop.

That version didn't make it to the US I tried the Wii version over a friends house and failed misserably I might give the PS3 version a try if I can get it for cheap (under $20US) and play it with a controller not anytime soon though since I already have a huge backlog of games.

Valkyria Chonicles is less then $20US new on Amazon.

Folklore for the Ps3, I loved that game
