Forums - Gaming - Ryse: Old and New Builds Compared; 150,000 Polygons vs 85,000 and Better Shaders

it looks more natural but you cannot deny that the old one is much sharper. Itll be interesting to see it in actual motion rather then simple screens. This is really up to taste, some people prefer a sharper image than shades/colors, others are the opposite.

I am Torgo, I take care of the place while the master is away.

"Hes the clown that makes the dark side fun.. Torgo!"

Ha.. i won my bet, but i wasnt around to gloat because im on a better forum!  See ya guys on Viz

The new one has better shading and shadowing and better overall cinematic look or like what others said kind more natural. You can barely see the reduced polygon count.

I thought the old one looks clearly better...

Gone from E3 running on PC at 1080p 60FPS to X180 running at 900p 30FPS.
So if a graphics specialist company like Crytek who specialize in IQ are struggling then what about the average company????? MS the veil is lifting

Hahahahaha whar dumb article. Ryse was never a 60fps game and it was running on xbox one in e3. The difference was that is was 1080p then. But seeing how the game looks much better now at 900p, I think crytek made a good decision.

Yes it was running on x180, your right. They just toned the graphics down as they were too much for our eyes! They thought lets impress the xbox fans by going from looking 1080p 150k polygon counts and rock solid framerate to 900p 85k polygon count and less than solid framerate. It was proven with photos that E3 demos were running on PC's with Titan cards. But hey you can console yourself with the knowledge that it was actual X180 hardware and Crytek don't want you playing at such high settings! LMFAO

hahaha you must be a fanboy because your are blind. Do research, RYse, forza and KI were the only games running on x1 devkits at e3, all other games were running on pc. The game has better graphics with lower resolution now than it did at e3. Crytek made a good choice by lowerinf the resolution and polygons for better lightning and shaders.

I'm not even buying this game but your are a misinformed person.

You speaking about yourself? Can you provide the actual proof that any of those 3 games were running on X180 hardware??? Or are we gonna take a gaming sites so called word for it???? You obviously like to state the bleeding obvious don't you??? Obviously a game looks more polished further down the development line or do you think it works in reverse? Since the E3 build which was clearly PC Crytek have had time to improve textures, lighting and shading even though they have lowered resolution and polygon count. KI has gone from claimed 1080p 60FPS to 720P 60FPS. Clearly MS have been demonstrating on PC things like Titanfall and BF4.

Wow, are people blind? The old build looks a lot, a damn lot better, more detailed less current gen. Would have to see both in action side by side but it lost all the realism it had.

RIP ps3, xbox360.

welcome home ps4 and X1

That's a huge downgrade. It almost went from next gen to current gen. I'm disappointed and worried about the quality of future Xbone titles.

From the comments section with the author 'defending' his article.

And so, the PS fanatics invade another thread about Ryse...
