It could well be, although it's often a chicken-and-egg question. The only time Nintendo was definitively proven wrong about a game that they undersold that I can think of was Xenoblade.

Spyro is not a new IP and the orginal game was very much promoted as a Spyro game, no matter how you want to spin it. NOW after it became popular then Spyro is kind of pushed to the back.

i disagree, Spyro was (until they gave up and started this Skylanders thing) was way more relevant, as they were still actually MAKING Spyro games, they werent doing that with Rayman until just recently and im not counting the ports they keep making of Rayman 2

This game is currently the #1 WiiU game in France.

France is the most into Nintendo games area besides Germany in Europe

Nintendo never advertises on television, pre-release bar some exceptions, same ol same ol imo.

 

 

TW101 actually was advertised in theater slots however. After Kamiya said the whole TW101 thing,(before the direct) it ended up getting a 4 page spot in Game Informer, a lot of spots all over the internet ( take off adblock)

Seems its the mixed reviews kinda hurting it but people will come around it.

Miiverse, a TV series and Smash Bros is this games best bet.
