i preordered puppeteer after the ign review and played the first two levels now, and have to say - it is good. has a very cool charme. this could have become popular some decades ago. if nintendo were starting today, mario wouldn't become as popular as it became back then.
and it really is a bummer that sony tries hard, succeeds in quality, but fails in sales. i hope they never give up trying.

Probably along with pre-orders. I would probably do it if I was hyped for a VERY popular game on a console I don't have. Why wait in lines if you can get it now?

Well, you said LBP. LBP = LBP 1 or all of them and 1 did very well. You were comparing their artstyles basically, and as you can surely see, the artstyle wasn't the reason for the decline. On the other hand, the artstyle was probably one of the major reasons it even reached 170k in the first place.

I don't think that Lbp's artstyle made it decline, but the artstyle for Pupeteer could have indicated that it was played in a similar way. In other words Lbp could have declined because of gameplay which the Japanese didn't like so much, which is why Pupeteer did bad.
