Nintendo, make a SKU with a full HDD, like 250GB or 500GB, then, I am in.

Or you could just buy a 2 TB external for under $100.  300 dollars for deluxe or WW sku + 100 for 2 TB external = ~400

Nintendo doesn't try to rape you on hard drive prices in their SKUs.  They went with SD format for 3DS and SD cards are dirt cheap now.  External hard drives are dropping all the time.  At least they weren't like Microsoft with the 360 hard drives or like Sony with Vita memory cards.  You have to buy from them and they are overpriced.

You can keep dreaming about a 250/500 GB sku considering 250 GB SSD on Amazon are around 180 or so and 500 GB SSD are around 350 (Wii U uses SSD for their internal storage).  Sure they could get them cheaper buying them in bulk but the cheapest most affordable option is to go out and buy an external hard drive to attach to the Wii U.

As I understand, I need a HD with its own power source, these cost a fortune in Brazil, like 300 dollars...

The issue is that the USB ports are version 2.0  You can use an external hard drive without external power (USB 3.0 typically) but you will need what is called a Y cable to pull extra power from another USB port.  I have been doing this very thing since launch, no problems yet...

Something like this, or similar:
http://www.ppctechs.com/Dell-Axim-X50v_272/accessories/Lil-Sync-USB-Power-Adapter-Y-Cable_1300-358.htm

Just make sure you get the right kind of cable, you want a Y CABLE not Y ADAPTER, some places mislabel them.  You want the cable with 2 male ends and 1 female end, like the one listed above.  They are pretty cheap.

Perhaps I was too harsh on Nintendo all this time. I didn't realize how good I still have it, despite the Wii U being such a piece of trash.

Yes, you are being too harsh. The U will be a Nintendo great when it gets the games and the bundles like in OP.

They are most definitely the norm for video games. I expect a patch on every game I own, because there's a patches on the vast majority of new games.

Sounds like you have accepted the responsibility of being a beta tester.

I've just accepted the reality that bugs and problems are unable to fixed until after release and seeing new features and balance adding after hearing fan feedback. I don't see how it's a bad thing.

As a software developer I can tell you that is simply not the case.  Adequate testing is not difficult to do, it just takes time.  Since consumers have accepted the "rush to release and patch later" development model, patches have become ubiquitous.  Were people to say its nonsense (which it is) the games would take longer to reach release but would not require patching later on, whether it be for bug fixes or balance issues.

But developers do not have that luxury. In our current market, they are forced to meet deadlines by publishers who require games to be out by certain dates and times. EA employs thousands(!) of testers, and their games have bugs and glitches that dozens of patches do not fix. While I think developers should still be criticized for bugs, I'm not naive enough to expect there never to be a patch of fix for my games.

Reduced Wii U price? Oh dear, wonder how they are gonna make a bunch of profit from that. Good for them though.

DS/Wii hardware and software is pure profit plus 3DS is selling at a profit and i assume the 2DS will as well. 3DS software is selling great plus Pokemon, Monster Hunter, Zelda, Mario Party are coming and will sell alot. Also Wii U will soon have some big selling titles like 3D Mario, DKC, Wii Fit, Wii Party and Wind Waker HD. All those things will cancel out Wii U hardware losses big time.

Could be, but pricing at $299 would probably bring them back to the losses they were losing from when they initially launched the console, perhaps even worse. Plus, I don't think 3DS/2DS will sell enough to bring them "Nintendo-like profits" like they want. Not saying they won't completely cancel out the losses, but they won't be very profitable considering how they are still selling at a loss today at 350$, 299$ would just add to the losses. But we'll see, always pleased to see surprises! :)

when they was selling basic wii U for 300$, they need to sell 1 game to profit.
Maybe now they need to sell 2 games to profit, WW is one of them, and with these lots of games going out, this is not a problem.
So they probably will profit.

In a long term they will surely profit: more consoles on market -> more games sold.
