Forums - Microsoft - Why would Titanfall be an XBOX ONE system seller?

I think it will sell decently, but I don't know if its going to be the next CoD. In fact, I don't think that there is going to be a "CoD" next gen. I can see this falling somewhere between a BioShock and a Battlefield sales wise.

It is still very early in the gen so TitanFall wont be like CoD yet.  I believe it will have a pretty high attach ratio though.  Selling at least 1m on Xbox One (Or i hope).

EA said they like it in their rotation so it will likely get sequels.  The sequel is very likely to be multiplatform as well which will also boost its numbers.  I think it will at least grow through out the generation.

as i said, i have no fucking idea. maybe the mech AI? like in forza driveatar?

You're getting Forza and Titanfall confused. To my knowledge Respawn has said nothing about AI (I may be wrong, but I haven't heard it). They wanted the "cloud" in order to have dedicated servers like a PC game would.

Why would you need teh Cloud for Dedi servers? I know PS3 games that have dedi servers and they don't need teh power of teh cloud.

Cloud is a way to manage dedicated servers, so that the admins administering it, don't have to know as much of what is going on underneath, so it is easier.  A cloud is a pool of servers, run virtually, where you can swap things in and out, and not have things go down.

it will be marketed a lot on the xbox one, also they are already claiming they can do stuff with the AI (i dont know what it is exactly though) that they can only do on the xbox one. also the Xbox 1 version will look much better than the 360 version and have more and better effects which might drive a lot of people to get the X1 version. also i wouldnt be surprised if the xbox 1 has exclusive content

The AI??? Isn't this a multiplayer only game? What AI?

I think the game has NPC's running around the place.

Assuming the game turns out to be as good as expected or better, the key will first be marketing. Then it will be word of mouth. The mp nature of the game will make others want to play with their friends that are going nuts over it and thus it will spread.

I know some people are trying to downplay this game for ... various reasons, but is it being a huge hit and mover for the X1 really that hard to swallow???

It is for those who almost religiously insult and doomtalk Xbox One. (The internet is full of them) They want desperately to see it fail, and so will downplay any positive news.

I have the feeling this could be the next call of duty...

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

Another thing to add about it is that, as far as I know, it isn't being released during the holiday season. It is missing a big selling window. I recall Killzone 2 and how it got hyped up, and was also not released during the holiday season, and didn't end up a game changer.

On thread on here predicting Killzone 2 would be a system seller. At least some people did.

I have no clue Titanfall looks amazing but it isn't a system seller for me personally.
