Where did I say 3rd parties bullied Nintendo? I said that they bully MS/Sony, thats why they like to develop for them instead. Hence the paywalls.

And the 3ds argument is what I was referring to about companies still making games for it even though it is inferior spec wise to the Vita. Although they couldn't delvelop their true "vision" of the game on such inferior hardware, I guess they will just have to settle for a dumbed down, good enough version on 3ds.

My point is marketshare will always trump specs, and they always have, every generation.

It is rather amusing seeing you call someone else defensive lol.

I see you ignored the video and the Epic statement and now you will continue on with your rant.

I'll just plant this link right here for you to read about Epic's statements and you'll just ignore it as well, but at least I provided the information yet again, so here it is.

Answer this: Why did the wii not get 360 and PS3 multiplats even when they gained a massive marketshare?

because the the wii didn't even had programable shaders and other modern tools. wii u on the other hand, has all that.

I agreed that the Wii U could get current gen multiplats if they sold well. No matter what their sales they will be cut off from multiplat sales. Third parties will make exclusives for them after the third parties feel the current gen multiplats no longer need to be supported.

I don't think it's really so much the system that has to sell as much as it's certain games that have to sell.

If Call of Duty, Watch Dogs, Batman, produce big numbers on Wii U then that would change things. Publishers want to see if there's a market, a 100 million userbase doesn't mean much to a publisher that's making Grand Theft Auto, as we saw with the Wii.

A lot of it is about what types of software your console moves, not just the size of the userbase. The biggest userbase doesn't matter to the publisher if you don't have an audience for the games they like to make.

Hence why Activision got pissed at the Nintendo fans for not buying enough COD to make a profit. The head of Ubisoft also complained about Zombie U stating there would not be a sequel.

care to show a link for that? because if 1M+ for a half assed down port isn't enough to profit, I don't know what they were expecting.

I played it on the Wii U. Graphically it was the best version on consoles but not far off from the current gen counter-parts. Plays better with the pro controller and that controller still doesnt feel better than competitions controllers for shooters.

Dude....how many times do I have to tell you? I am not trolling. No...they wont...watch. Epic already made it clear they didn't even see the point in Nintendo using Unreal 4. If they went and did that, that spells a problem that they dont feel the Wii U is powerful enough and to meet next gen standards. Epic knows Nintendos specs and they consider the Wii U slightly above current gen so they should stick with Unreal 3 instead of using 4. They said the Unreal 4 is scalable because you can even use it on cellphones but for the games most are making, they would have to downscale too much and it would basically be pointless.

bolded: you should try stand up, really. by the way, explain crytek and it's new version of cryengine that fully suports wii u. and start coming up with your excuse when UE4 start supporting wii u.

Dude...you're not getting my point. If you properly read what I wrote, the head of Epic said Unreal 4 is scalable and the Wii U can use it but he said there is no point with the level of games that are going to be made next gen. Crytek can do whatever they want, with Unreal being used by most companies they need as many people using their engine as possible so I would say its smart. I am sure someone will use Unreal 4 for the Wii U but I highly doubt for next gen games multiplats.

The Wii U could offer free blowjobs and golden calves and companies will still find reasons not to port over their games. Exceptions will appear from time to time, but regardless of how well the Wii U does, 3rd parties will shun it.

All Nintendo has to do is let developers and publishers in on the development party instead of always keeping things to themselves so everyone can meet somewhere in the middle. If this happens their launch wont catch developers off guard. If third parties didnt want Nintendos money they wouldnt have put their games on the Wii U. No one asks why the problem is occuring.

A lot of it is about what types of software your console moves, not just the size of the userbase. The biggest userbase doesn't matter to the publisher if you don't have an audience for the games they like to make.

The thing with Wii is there wasnt much effort on 3rd parties side to create that kind of audience. I understand they couldnt port most of those games from PS360 but its very possible that a build from the ground up installment of Assassins Creed, Grand Theft Auto, Saints Row could have pushed 1-2 million and made a nice profit. Resident Evil 4 was popular on Wii and instead of making an exclusive Resident Evil in that style, they chose to go with the on rails style for some unknown reason. They brought over Dead Space and again instead of making it play like the others, they made it on rails. Dead Rising got an installment but from what I hear is wasnt very high quality.

Assassins Creed, Grand Theft Auto, Saints Row, Dead Rising, Dead Space, Resident Evil all could have had success on the Wii with some effort.

It's really not a third parties job to market/define the target audience, IMO that falls on the shoulders of the console maker.

Asking a third party to do that is like asking your neighbor to raise your kids. Hey, borrowing the ketchup is one thing, doing that is quite another.

Nintendo doesn't make any games for that audience, nor do they spend any time marketing to them, it's not exactly a shock that things don't well in the long run.

Well Resident Evil 4 sold over 2 million on Wii and that was a 2 year old port that had already sold over 5 million on PS2/GC, to me that shows there was a market for action-horror games on Wii. Instead of making the Umbrella/Darkside Chronicles games Iin that style, they decide to make them on rails FPS for whatever strange reason. Same goes for Dead Space, they decided to make it on rails and nobody wanted that. Dead Rising was a bad game from what I hear and u cant expect good sales for a bad game.

Take-Two released two core games on Wii, Bully and Manhunt 2, both sold reasonably well compared to the other consoles versions and both sold over 500k. I see no reason why a Grand Theft Auto game wouldnt have sold significantly more since its an infinitely more popular series. Obviously they couldnt have ported over GTA4 but they could have easily made a San Andreas Stories for Wii and PSP in 2007-2009. I think it would have sold at least 1-2 million on Wii. If GTA became popular on Wii then Saints Row could have easily followed suit and released on Wii thus making the fanbase for that type of game even bigger.

Assassins Creed came to DS while having no reason to believe there was a market for that type of game on that platform, why couldnt they have made one for Wii?

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

No. When will people get this through their skulls? Nintendo will never have good 3rd party support. If Wii didn't get it when it was selling more than its 2 competitors combined, why would WiiU get it?
