That's perfectly natural. There are a lot of people in the world who hate fun.

well i mean most nintendo games i do like pokemon and fire emblem but even those are starting to get stale because its the same thing over and over to me.

Simple, currently No Nintendo games appeal to me, they once use to, back when I was in my late teens, back when the GameCube was out, but I guess the Nintendo games didn't have a lasting appeal to me and my tastes drifted off and now I find my self really liking most of Sony's Story driven games. As an older gamer now it's something I've come to appreciate a hell of allot.

So with no affinity to Nintendo games, all that's left is 2nd and 3rd party games, as for 3rd party multiplatform games it's seriously a no brainier, if it's on PS4 then I'll buy it on PS4. As for 2nd party, welp there seriously isn't enough to warrant the purchase of a WiiU nor my time, I consider 'enough' being more than 10 games whether released or soon to be released, currently the only games that interest me are Zombiland and X.

With that said, I can't honestly say I was on the fence to begin with, rather I looked at the metaphorical fence from afar as I waited in line to pre-order my PS4, and then hypothetically thought about sitting on the fence running thought the games that interested me and coming up with just two, before my deep thought was interrupted by the clerk who smiled and asked what I was after to which I replied, I'm per-ordering the PS4. The clerk laughed a little and then informed me that it was good I pre-ordered early cuz they were being snapped up fast, he himself had just per-ordered one the other day. I was surprised because at the time it had only been about 3 days after the E3 reveal. When all was said and done I had pre-ordered the PS4 and Killzne:SF.

Welp if you made it this far in my post, kudos to you, now you know a lil bit of why I am not picking up the WiiU.

I also share your concern with WiiU. I've been predicting it's early demise long before it launched. And once Nintendo starts to focus on a new system the old one is abandoned in it's last year which we've seen again and again. That'd mean 2012 and 2013 would likely be the only 'good' years for Nintendo games on WiiU and considering this years line-up, that's scary.

The things you sometimes say...

It looks like you really believe that Nintendo will launch a new console in 2015 in order to "catch up" to Sony and Microsoft. There are two big problems though:

1) Nintendo doesn't drop their systems this fast.
2) Matching Sony and Microsoft in horsepower won't lead to more third party games, making a new console moot.

Although if your belief is along the lines of "You thought the Wii U was a disaster? Just wait until you see how insane Nintendo's next move is going to be!", then it would at least make sense. Complete self-destruction.

Virtualboy says hello!

Nintendo dropped that after 7months in America, and after 5month in Japan.

So yeah, Nintendo did drop a console fast, cuz they fucked up. Now will the same happen with the WiiU?

Well that's debatable, if Nintendos hardware sales tank further, and their software also tanks , then they'll have no option but to axe the WiiU especially when the WiiU is sold at a loss, it would be an unsustainable business to continue.
If however, Nintendo is able to salvage the WiiU enough to carve out a niche for it's self where the hardware sells decently enough, and software sells well enough, and they're able to start making profit on hardware even after a potential price cut, then no Nintendo will ride out the WiiU like they did the GameCube.

Just thought I'd point this out cuz the Virtualboy is all but forgotten, it gets no love despite being part of Nintendos great history.

Pointint out the the one blunder in their entire gaming history is rather insipid and pointless, don't you think? They dropped the Virtual Boy because it just wasn't a good idea out of the gate. It was a risk they took, and it didn't pay off. Nintendo don't drop systems, the way that Sega did, in succession, with 32X, Saturn, and then Dreamcast. The way Sega handled all of that was shameful. In a perfect world, the two big giants of gaming would still be Nintendo and Sega, with hell, maybe even Atari still being in the console business. But Sega fucked up, and Sony took over. No changning that.

But Nintendo is not now nor ever has been Sega.

My biggest reason...

I don't have enough money. lol!

For me its money. I have some friends who owe me money and some things I have been meaning to put on Craigslist or ebay, So once I have both scenarios taken care of I will probably buy one. Been wanting a Nintendo Console again for a few years now but I just could bring myself to buy a Wii. But a WiiU I could definitely buy.

RolStoppable said "1) Nintendo doesn't drop their systems this fast." I only required that one example to disprove his statment.

FYI, the Sega 32x was on the market for about 10-11 months before being discontinued. The Sega Saturn was on the market for about 3 years and 3 month in the US before being dropped (it was 6 year and 1 month in Japan). Finally the Dreamcast was on the market for about 1 year and 6 months in the US (It was 2 years and 4 months in Japan). Numbers from wikipedia..

The Virtualboy was dropped much faster than the 3 Sega home consoles you mentioned, again I only required this one example to disprove your statment  "Nintendo don't drop systems, the way that Sega did..." especially when history proves otherwise.

Just to clarify, I am NOT saying the WiiU will be dropped like the Virtualboy my point was to correct the revisionist history some people have when it comes to Nintendo, nothing more nothing less.

I'm not on the fence. I'm off it. I don't have much time to play video games now that school starts in a few days, and I already have enough of a backlog to last me at least 3 more years.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash
