Virtualboy says hello!

Nintendo dropped that after 7months in America, and after 5month in Japan.

So yeah, Nintendo did drop a console fast, cuz they fucked up. Now will the same happen with the WiiU?

Well that's debatable, if Nintendos hardware sales tank further, and their software also tanks , then they'll have no option but to axe the WiiU especially when the WiiU is sold at a loss, it would be an unsustainable business to continue.
If however, Nintendo is able to salvage the WiiU enough to carve out a niche for it's self where the hardware sells decently enough, and software sells well enough, and they're able to start making profit on hardware even after a potential price cut, then no Nintendo will ride out the WiiU like they did the GameCube.

Just thought I'd point this out cuz the Virtualboy is all but forgotten, it gets no love despite being part of Nintendos great history.

Pointint out the the one blunder in their entire gaming history is rather insipid and pointless, don't you think? They dropped the Virtual Boy because it just wasn't a good idea out of the gate. It was a risk they took, and it didn't pay off. Nintendo don't drop systems, the way that Sega did, in succession, with 32X, Saturn, and then Dreamcast. The way Sega handled all of that was shameful. In a perfect world, the two big giants of gaming would still be Nintendo and Sega, with hell, maybe even Atari still being in the console business. But Sega fucked up, and Sony took over. No changning that.

But Nintendo is not now nor ever has been Sega.
