PS2 was limited by stock. In fact it was chaos trying to find one because they under shipped.

Of course it was - just like the Wii - but that doesn't change my point.

True, it just invalidates it.

Incorrect.  You've clearly missed my point entirely.

The point being that the PS2 had way more demand than the PS4? I got it.

Good. Also pertinent to my point is that without that kind of hype, the PS4, in my opinion, won't manage the 6m by Dec 31 that I was initially responding to.

So the topic of PS2 shortages in no way invalidates my point.

It wont reach 6 M this year....no 4 at best...More like Q3 next year based on game releases. Sony has one of the healthiest release schedules I've seen from them at any launch.

That would mean that it would sell even better than the Wii, not going to happen.

The Wii had severe stock constraints, without which it would have sold far more.

Having said that, I don't think Leo-J's prediction is going to come true. It's a great system, but there aren't really any games to push it out of the gate. This year's biggest game is a PS3-360 multiplat (GTA5) and the CoD:Ghosts/BF4 effect will be split between the PS4 and Xbox One. The big exclusive system seller is Killzone: Shadow Fall, which is a step up from RFOM, but still nothing on, say, Wii Sports levels.

ps4 and xone can do whatever they want this holidays, it won't affect wii u sales. and it's funny that you think wii u needs a 199 price but two machines with less games will do ok at 399 and 499.

PS3 and 360 have been keeping the Wii U at bay all year until Pikmin came out. The highest point of the Wii U's release was November to January and then it stopped.

WII U kept ITSELF at bay by not having the games to make a purchase worth. ps360 had little to no influence on wii u's low sales.

Ok...sure they didn't. Nintendo only affects itself. I am sure The Xbox launch wont affect Sonys either, or vice versa.

you can stay in denial all you want. wii u sold poorly untill now due to a lack of games and ps360 existence didn't affect it much or at all.

I'm not in denial, you're the only one denying anything. I am only presenting a possibility or approximation.

You do realize the console is $400 without any games and has a $50 entry barrier to multiplayer right? Prepare for disappointment.

If you had said March 2014 I would have agreed, but I don't think Sony can physically produce enough by the end of this year.
