I think it may outsell all other consoles from Oct - dec but if you include all of the sales the WiiU already has then its not happening.

WII U kept ITSELF at bay by not having the games to make a purchase worth. ps360 had little to no influence on wii u's low sales. |
Wii U being nintendo's entry to the current gen on the visual level, and innovation level is what killed it

"killed it" eh? the damn thing hasn't been out for a damn year and you anti-Nintendo people are already saying it's dead. is the PS3 dead too? because that needed 2 damn years for it to pick up.
Yeah, this is pretty crazy. The Wii U is bound to sell enough over the holiday just to hold the lead, even if the PS4 does sell what the Wii U has already sold.

$400 for the console itself not including games. I'm not saying the PS4 doesn't have any games.
@CGI-Quality
Yes they will but now we're talking easily over $500 with tax when they can just pick up a PS3 or 360 bundled with multiple games for half the price. PS4 isn't selling 6-7 million consoles by January 1. PS4 may sell half of that number.

Things that confused consumers about the Wii U:
1. Tablet
2. Shares less multiplats with the 360 and PS3 whom share the wealth of the last third parties.
3. They can't tell whether it bests the 360 or PS3 in graphics even though its slightly higher.
4. Not enough of the high profile games people expected from launch and not enough third party support even in the current gen.
5. The price was the same or higher than current gen competition.
The PS3 pissed off consumers but in numbers it still outsold the Xbox 360's first year on the market. Crazy, eh? This is Sonys lowest selling gen....and nearly 80 million strong in sales. The lowest.

are you saying that just because those are problems with the WiiU now they won't ever improve? yeah right.
My guess would be that it depends on the production numbers.
I expect both the PS4 and the XB1 to be sold out for Q4 2013 and quite possibly through Q1 2014, if not, extremely supply restricted.
So... it really depends on whether SCE or MS can produce more hardware units or at least more units than Nintendo has sold to date to take the fairly irrelevant title of best selling console of the 8th generation.

Nintendo held themselves back for the most part on offerings, but for the people were looking for a new console and had to choose between the 360 and PS3 they just couldnt tell the difference and could not match the offerings. Perhaps they'll get those people later but their marketshare will grow as new games come out. Pachter himself has said that Nintendo is going to profit but they will be behind the PS4 and Xbox by a large margin.
