I was counting Demon Souls and Dark Souls actually, plus I already mentioned Ni No Kuni will pass those bolded in the next 2 weeks and when Xillia's numbers come out next week it will be close to it and pass it the week after. Like I said, I already gave examples and if you bothered to read the thread you will have seen that I mentioned the game will come out in mid 2015 and it would not be financially viable on X360 at that time.

Of course there "was" a market a few years ago for this genre on the 360. But it's shrinking every year, like how FF13-2 sold 660k total. And where did I say that ever jrpg has to outsell Blue Dragon and LO? I said list wars because it pretty obvious that developers know that X360 jrpg crowd is small and not worth it at this point. That's why you see exclusives likes Tales and Ni No Kuni. Anyways, I'm done agruing this pathetic point with you, the genre is dead on the X360, you need to let the dream go man, MS has..

Sure thing the game will come out in mid 2015. This is Playstation 4 we're talking about, not 3. So the Xbox One market can be a good one, and basing how the 360 market was, there's something to back it up. I merely respond to your "JRPG nough said" thing with evidence, and latter to another user who said "because japanese games" with more evidence.

The fact that you see exclusives like Tales and Ni No Kuni, again, is because of developers who only put it in Ps3 because they think that market will be good enough. You see, a game as niche as Deadly Premonition managed to be exclusive in the west for the 360, and became one of the most talked games of the generation. Then, later, they localized the Ps3 version with even more content and it bombed hard. It goes both ways. Tales of Vesperia might have not had the sales Namco would have thought, but sure as hell they try again they'll find even better results. That's why Dark Souls 2 is multiplat, just as Dark Souls 1, because the 360 market is good.

You're done arguing? Good for me.

If he wants it on all platforms, why not the xbox 360 or One then?

its japenese game.....................

Kingdom hearts and final fantasy is coming to it :P

Plus, it's an indie game, it was never going to set the world on fire, so it needs every sale

You'd think that after looking at multiplatform JRPG sales, we'd all realize where the majority of the JRPG fans are.

I am done so it is good for you and your little alternate universe. But wow Deadly Premonition?  Really?  Most talked about game of the generation?  Maybe for how bad it was. It bombed because it came out over "3 years" after the X360 version in NA. That whole example is just pathetic. Talk about jaw dropping...okay now I am done, cheers..

The problem with Nintendo… You know, I like Nintendo and everything…but not a lot of people buy it. I know a lot of fans buy it, but there are so many restrictions with Nintendo, and also the fact that Nintendo in Japan does not accept indie games.

SoulSaga obviously had no problem to secure things for WiiU-release, Playstation-support was announced later as they sorted out things with Sony. So I think this is not true, if it works out well with Nintendo for one game, why should it problematic with something similar. The solution more or less is, that they found a publisher for PS4 - and didn't care enough for something else.

3DS-FC: 4511-1768-7903 (Mii-Name: Mnementh), Nintendo-Network-ID: Mnementh, Switch: SW-7706-3819-9381 (Mnementh)

my greatest games: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025

10 years greatest game event!

bets: [GTA6]

"The reason why we’re going to work on PlayStation 4 is because we’ve been asked by a very small publisher who wants to publish for PlayStation 4(...)"

And that's it. Kudos for the Kyoto excuse, never heard it before.

"Android app developer Tatsuo Nagamatsu pointed out on Twitter that Nintendo's refusal to work with indie developers seems to be supposedly related to the company's Wii U software policy, which apparently states Nintendo exclusively works with software selling entities (read: "publishers") and not individuals. This policy, perhaps, seems to be designed to protect Nintendo's second- and third-party partners.

Meanwhile on 2ch, Japan's largest forum, some called the decision "discrimination", while there were also snide remarks that this rule was to prevent "creepy otaku" from making erotic games for the Wii U. Others on 2ch and Twitter mentioned how the whole situation seemed cruel and showed a narrowing of options for indie game makers in Japan." -- http://kotaku.com/apparently-nintendo-is-refusing-japanese-indie-develop-877747113

Soul Saga is a Western-developed game; Project Phoenix is a Japanese-developed game.  Kind of highlights the point even further.

Sigh. The excuses on not putting games on Nintendo consoles is getting ridiculous. Amusing though.

Quite surprising, because we've heard nothing but praise about how Nintendo supports indies nowadays. Though, I do remember something about that form not translating over to NoJ, admittadly.

But what he says is rather contradictory. The systems have a lot of fans who'll buy your games? Well, why not release it on the system then? There's been plenty of people and other devs who've managed.

You're an indie dev, who's funding is coming through Kickstarter; from other people, because you couldn't get anyone else to give you funding. Now, I'm all for Kickstarter and it's a great idea, but refusing to publish on one system over another, which could easily provide a load more revenue for you, because of "rules" and the way one company operates sounds a bit high and mighty, if you ask me.

it's gotta be the NoJ thing because you're right that western indies haven't had any complaints lately.

..but anyways.  the response sounds really long winded for what is the real and simple answer, "..we’ve been asked by a very small publisher who wants to publish for PlayStation 4".

Well it's an old buisness addage.  Never admit how small you are.

I mean it's funny because Nintendo is essentially doing the exact opposite of being stuck in the oldschool mindset.  Nintendo is always trying to change something up with their console rather then the default "Lets pump up the specs".
