Even VGchartz is giving the 3DS a very solid lead in France, Germany and UK for the 3DS over the PS3. We just don't know their magic formula that makes the PS3 first in the rest of europe and in "others".

you realize that 1.5 M is just for the US market right?  WW the gap is over 10M now and growing fast.  at this point in time in DSs life it was selling on average 400k a week WW.

3DS is really falling behind the DS.

3DS this month around 141k, the equivalent month for the DS at this stage of its life is March 2007 I believe, it sold 509k, but it was a 5 week month, so lets axe a week off to be fair. That's still 407k vs. 141k at the same point in the life cycle and that wasn't an anamoly month for the DS either. It was pulling off 400-500k a month from that point on pretty much every normal month.

PSP even did 214k for the same equivalent month (July 2007) as the 3DS too.

Vita is basically dead. There's just no way people can continue to claim smartphones/tablets haven't had a monstrous impact on the handheld market. These are enormous drop offs.

The problem is that revenue has just disappeared from the markets. People are spending their time on tablets but the actual spending isn't there.

Now that there's an expectation of free to 99c, a game has to be exceptional to command even $10+ on a tablet.

Isnt the gap closer to 8 Million WW than it is to 10 Million WW? Baring in mind that the DS had also already had Pokemon in Japan and an extra Holiday Season.

Pachter is being a bit of a dick here, simply because comparing anything to DS level sales is unfair, because nothing has ever sold as well as the DS did in the same time-frame. Not even the great PS2. To put a downer on things because it isnt selling as well as the DS was is probably, very likely a troll.

Once you have like twenty $1 games on your tablet, you're pretty good to go I would think if you're a casual gamer.

I don't believe the WW gap has hit 10 mil yet (you can check if you like), and as mentioned before, the DS had an extra Holiday season over the 3DS at this point in its life in their two biggest markets.
