Did you read my response? Heh...heh.

Wait!  So, if one person buys a PS+ subscription, that subscription applies to the entire machine, not the user like an Xbox LIVE Gold subscription does?

If I buy a game with my PS+ account, everyone that uses the console can also play that game?

Que? If you buy a weekly or monthly discounted game on PSN+ Its yours no different than Steam or Xbox Live.

With an Xbox LIVE Gold subscription and an Xbox One, if I have 5 people in my family, everyone has the same Gold subscription access.  I don't have to be logged in for them to use my Xbox LIVE Gold subscription.  I don't have to give them my gamertag or password.  The only thing I have to do is log into the console and purchase apply the subscription to it.

After that, anyone else using that console can use it with my subscription and they can play any of my games that I bought (likewise I can play any of theirs).

The net effect is that an Xbox LIVE Gold account while still tied to a user is console wide.

Is that true with PS+?  By the way it is PlayStation Plus NOT PlayStation Network Plus thus PS+ or PS Plus not PSN+ or PSN Plus.  And I already know the answer I'm just really asking a rhetorical question because I want you to say it.  I want those lovely words to have to be typed in and written in a comment for me to read.

It'll be like porn on the Internet.  I'll fap to it.

Go ahead now.  Tell me how many people can use my PS+ account without me being logged in or at home.

MS just split up the accounts. Don't worry, they're throwing you a bone with three free months of Xbox Live for the inconvenience, but everyone else after the period is up is going to have to pay their own way effective on the 27th.

That's all well and good, but that's related to the Xbox LIVE Family Plan, which is an Xbox 360 feature.

On the Xbox One, if I subscribe to an Xbox LIVE Gold membership with one Xbox Live Gold membership, anyone in my household or any of my friends can use my Xbox One with their account, and have full access to Xbox LIVE Gold features (including my game purchases) with their account.  I don't have to be home.  I don't have to be present.  Assuming they don't have an Xbox LIVE Gold account.

Likewise, if I go to my nephews dorm, log in with my account at his Xbox One.  Once again, he can use all of the features available on Gold and access all of my games and game content.

Doesn't need to. PSN Plus is solely about games. Everything else can be done for free off of Plus.

RE: PS+

Yes and Yes.  I can access any content i've downloaded with any user account on the PS3 that has the PS+ PSN account signed in and console activated.  I can also have one more PS3 activated and redownload my games from PS+ and PSN on that console and play them when at a pals house.  I can't play the same game on two consoles at the sametime though. So yea, PS+ pretty much smokes XBL Gold at least in the current gen and form.  Add into the mix that I own a PS Vita too and yea, that $50 goes a long way over the year; esp the first few years of it and the Vita. :)

the only downfall is that the background updates only work on one of the PS3s.

Good to know! Just in case my PS3 bricks on me! :)

So, with a PS+ account, anyone in the house can play COD multiplayer online on the PS4 without the PS+ account being logged into the PS4?  Like they can with the Xbox One and Xbox LIVE Gold?

Again.  With Xbox One and Xbox LIVE Gold, anyone can access all of Xbox LIVEs features without the Xbox LIVE Gold account holder being logged.  Including Online Multiplayer.

I'm referring to PS4 and Xbox One, since this conversation was about the Xbox One.

Also, your solution requires a party to act as another party.  I have to be logged in using someone else's credentials.  I can't benefit from the subscription someone else has on the box I'm on using my own account.  On the Xbox One, if I have an Xbox LIVE Gold subscription, a friend who doesn't can log into the console using his account, while I'm not present, and still have access to every feature of Xbox LIVE Gold including online multiplayer.
