Depends on what people expect from console games these days. I hope people still consider fun an important part of gaming and if they do, the Wii U should do fine. If people are expecting story driven works of art which make you think but aren't much fun, then the Wii U won't do very well.

Bioshock Infinite comes to mind. Praised as brilliant for its story, but in terms of gameplay mechanics took a step or two back from the first Bioshock. I personally don't like the direction the Industry is headed. I hope people remember what's important before it's too late.

Well, E3 with the showing of the coming consoles put some spotlight on Sony and MS. No much news since, so the existing console gets more attention. Then the new consoles release this will be different again.

Its cyclical. Initially you had all the nintendo fans making threads when the 3DS launched and it did really well. Then it had its troubles and all the non-nintendo fans piled in. Then the price cut happened and all the nin-fans shouted yay. After that you had the Wii U and all its troubles and doom and gloom came to nintendo thread-land again. Now with some good games coming to the Wii U, things are looking up. Of course you know what that means.......

We used to have many prominent very active Nintendo members and the threads were plenty. Not all the time, but Nintendo has had a stronger presence at some points inthe past and now than it did for much of this year ( besides E3 time frame).

 

Sony games always confuse me though. They always get excited for what seems to be nothing. I have no interest in any of the games I see for the vita or that they announce in MUGENS thread. PS3 games interest me, just not Vita games. I just do not get it. But it is obviously a hit among many so what can I say.

 

Their power is waning though. That is one truth I do know.


You gotta be kidding me!!! With the mass exodus of Nintendo fans from this site along with a new console coming out from Sony this site has even become more hostile to not just Nintendo fans but MS fans as well.  The power of Sony fans here on the site is far from waning I'm sorry to say.

I'll judge the Wii U after this holiday and not before. Anyone doing so for or against is probably a fanboy for or against Nintendo.
