I smell fear. Soon the X1's launch price will be $399 and people know it.

Not going to happen (look at CBOAT's reaction). They've got a lot riding on Kinect and invested too much in it to drop it like that.

OT: good news I guess.. even if 180, again xP

This doesn't dispute what I was refering to. CBoaT debunked a rumor for a Kinect-less X1 by next summer, but what I am thinking of is the same X1 as it is now, launching at $399.

Also, CBoaT can't see in the future. After the X1 reveal he said that Microsoft's actual DRM policies are worse than they've revealed so far, but eventually Microsoft canned the entire thing.

Can't see MS doing that personally. They're probably already making a loss as it is with Kinect bundled in (and now they're adding in a headset too). Chopping off $100 of whats already bleeding them money is very, very unlikey.

About the DRM reversal, yeah noone could have seen that coming. It was most likely a last minute adjustment done by the higher ups at MSFT. A change like that is simple and won't negatively effect the launch of the console or the company. A decision like lowering the pricing of the console after its initial announcement it, however will.

Glad they changed that, if I get a X1 the kinect isn't leaving the box.

So, you wouldn't even hook it up and try it out?  You just paid $100+ for it and your not going to hook it up because why?

Because there are people who don't want it.stupid answer really.

fixed....

not having it plugged in all the time maybe even though it's stilldumb

but living it in the box would be like leaving your TV remote in the box because you don't want it and will use the side buttons to opperate it.... it is your right.... but it is still stupid....especially since you can deactivate most features....

Why is it stupid? I don't have a choice to not buy it. And I don't want to use it. So it stays in the box. Is that a problem for people? You like Kinect, great. I don't. So It just will sit in the box.

because liking to waste time on useless button mashing in countless menues just to say I'm not using it is stupid... simple as that... liking it or not as nothing to do with it.... if you take even a second more to do something without it it doesn't make any sens not to use it... simple maths really.... there are many things I don't like to do or use but I still do it or use it because it is faster or easier that way.... I hate public transportation but it is the fastest way to cross town so I use the bus when I have to....

looking at all the demos we've seen so far there is absolutely no doubt it will be faster and more convenient to use the XB1 with kinect rather than with the pad.... heck it is already true for some stuff on 360 and the console wasn't built around it... so yeah you are free to drive across town but it is not a smart idea....

anyway I'm out of the post before I get ban for no good reasons as usual

good talk, basically more good news for the one that cared and still not enough for a few.... the usual XB thread.... enjoy your gaming peeps I am out before the mod squad gets trigger happy...

This was the last thing that was putting me off from XBOne... glad to see microsoft may actually be listening, but I don't understand why they couldn't see it was a bad idea from the jump. Isn't it obvious that consumers will always prefer choice?

The last reversal MS needs to make is to only restrict multiplayer with Gold. All other multimedia features should not require Gold. Its not a deal breaker for me since I am already used to it on X360, but it is the last thing they need to be on equal footing with PS4.

Its simple, you see...if demand goes down, do not trust their judgement to buy the product of their own accord.

So... EVERYTHING they announced at the event in May, was a lie?

It seems they've done a 180 on just about everything they said back then, this was the last item that fanboys and haters had as ammunition against the console, and now it's been fixed... yeah.

Yep, it was a lie. They just needed to get people to believe in the concept of the Kinect 2. They know the commercial value is gone so they force bundled it and told people the Xbone couldn't go on without it. They also told everyone they couldnt overturn policies on DRM and they did within weeks. They basically lied about almost everything. Luckily in business its not always about lies, so the fans can get what they want out of the deal without being had.

Actaully MS did not overturn their Online DRM policy, they completly dropped the online part completely.  There is a big difference between the 2.  MS could not just change how the console was going to handle its online infrastuture.  Everything was tied into having games installed on the HDD.  The whole DRM was because games were going to be installed on the console instead of run from disk.

As for Kinect having to be plugged in, it probably did have to be plugged in.  This was an unpopular issue for consumers and evidently MS changed the console to not depend on Kinect.  Probably should have done that in the first place but hindsight is....well you know the rest.

Anyway lie does not fit the situation.  180 meets the turn better as they had unpopular ideals and totally changed them based on consumer feedback.  Not sure why people would want a company to ignore them but if you read comments from most people you would think they want a company to igore their complaints.

explain to me how : kinect which has sold as much as it has so far, be a failure? because sony said it was, give me a break. i like kinect and i know, alot of ppl as well who like the device and use it quite often. so for alot of ppl in the near future and down the road , having kinect with it will be a major selling factor. m$ marketing campaign always destroys what sony can ever think about doing, that is the major difference between the 2 companies. And that reason alone with help kinect be a very very valuable factor in the long term success of the xbox one.

Yep, they are prepping the Xbone for a quick price drop just in case Sony beats them out the gate.

lol... a "LIE"... Sensationnal :)
So at first you complain about anything they are planning and when they LISTEN to gamers and adjust things, they become "liars"...
You guys are killing me; I mean is there nothing good to talk about in other Sony threads and your precious console instead of spending the majority of your time flamming/bashing into the MS ones?

Ever hear the phrase, don't trust the dog that bit you? Just because Microsoft has reversed many of the policies, lets not forget that they tried to screw us over in the first place, therefor it is likely they are to do it again, perhaps incrimentally throughout the consoles lifetime.
