I used rechargable controllers on my PS3 and my 360. I had to purchase it extra on my 360 though. The PS3's lifespan before being charged is just fine and it doesnt take very long to charge and play while its plugged in. No difficulty on either console, just that one comes stock without making you pay extra.

You keep missing the point.

I like having the ability to swap out my batteries to continue playing wireless instead of having to use a short wire to charge my controller (a la PS3).

For many devices, I like having a rechargable battery in the device. However, for a game controller I like having the option of swapping the battery out so I can avoid using a wire.

This is my stance, you might as well give up because we'll just keep going in circles.

How far away from your TV do you play?

Come on now. The cord that comes with the PS3 controller is ridiculously short. Who plays 3 feet away from a 32+ inches screen?

Seriously?

Closer if I'm using a wire. Even if the cord were longer, I prefer not using the cord period.

My 360 controller wire is like 12 feet long. But I just swap rechargable AA batteries so I can continue playing wirelessly.

Yes, but you're talking about what you prefer, not exactly what is pratical for the time. Enjoy your batteries bro, no one is telling you any different.

Aha! We finally have the day where we dance! So you're telling me in the time he could've gone to charge his batteries idle from his console or buy a new bunch of batteries he couldn't have recharged his controller? If he has two controllers he knows he can swap and charge the secondary without problems as well. The PS3 cannot charge a controller properly on stand by, but you can also use your PC USB drive. I haven't bought the third party stands so I don't know about that.

My second question would've been about how many controllers he had, but he made a fair point in his response.

You reacted negatively about the X1 using AA batteries. I pointed out a benefit and a reason I'm fine with it using AA batteries.

If you share you thoughts on a forum, sometimes people will respond. Kinda how this crazy thing works.

No rechargeable ion batteries that recharge by the USB port similar to the PS3. Having to buy new batteries or recharge the batteries is so inconvenient.

I just watched that video on the Xbox One controller from some Xbox thread. It seems that the XbOne controller can use USB cables, too. That should make things a little less painful for guys that don't have rechargeable batteries on standby.

Exactly what I saw before. Makes me only wonder how long it will be. But either way, I will use my eneloops that I use also now with 360.

If by speaking negatively, being concerned, yes, but you must understand I am speaking in general. Its a response to the time period we're in.

I like batteries I can swap so I don't have to use a wire when my controller battery dies (a la PS3).

In this time period I like to avoid using wires.

Which is exactly why I said, if you like it I have no say in the matter. Its no longer a point of discussion when someone talks about what they like.
