I never said Sony gets a pass, who gave them a pass? I am saying MS on that front should continue the boxing method because much like Nintendo introduced games via bundling process they bundled headsets to give console gamers the experience PC gamers always get. They pull a 180 on the headset no doubt. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate all of it, but when it all piles up it has to irk a person somewhat, especially when that brand is your primary. Again, Sony never got a pass at all, in fact its one of the things no one could ever argue in Sonys defense in an argument about the pros and cons abou the 360 vs the PS3.

You've never once whined about Sony not including a headset on this forum and yet you have made plenty of posts about MS not including one. Please do not try and deny that you are giving Sony a free pass. Kind of like you bitch constantly about MS "upping the price tag" or whatever yet you never mention Sony when they do the same thing. The headset issue on PS3, the Vita memory card issue just to name a couple. I am not saying everyone gave Sony a pass. I am saying you gave Sony a loyalty free pass ;)

Regarding the bolded, why? What a terrible way to go through life, seems very bitter. If you had an issue with these policies, they're changed now. You should be happy. You continuing to be PMS'y about them says you are just going to find issues to bitch about regardless.

I didnt whine because at the time I had a 360 and when I got the PS3 it was a downside that it didnt have the mic functional or crosschat, but I could understand why.  Sony had to work their way up in building the structure of PSN learning from Xbox Live, which I am sure you know very well and add their own bells and whistles. I couldnt blame Sony though because they weren't from the PC software world even though they create the hardware but not internet infrastructure or OS. Computer gaming relied upon it for accurate gameplay, especially in team based games. Why didnt I complain about Nintendos chat abilities? Because I couldnt blame them for it not being their level of expertise. Can I blame MS for not creating formats? No. They need things to be digital so they have the edge, just like anyone with a decent working PC knows.

When Microsoft sees that Sony gives their fans a headset instead of making them buy it as yet another tacked on purchase, they decide to give them a very nice looking headset for free. A much better headset than Sony, I might add. Without the influence of Sony do you know how many tacked on purchases MS would've forced upon their gamers?

To be honest, I'm probably as big a Sony fan as you are. But you give them far too much credit.

They never had a free headset slated in the past. This is my point. Sony had a shitty headset but at least they gave something back.

It’s interesting how people see things.  I see the headset Sony is putting within the PS4 as a piece of garbage.  It looks cheap and it probably is very cheap for them to make and put into the console.  When I look at the X1 headset, it actually looks like a headset.  It looks like MS spent some money and time designing it.  If you go by MS, they have improved the quality of the sound sent and received to the headset and it also appears they are taking this piece of equipment serious.

I can understand why MS did not include the headset within the X1.  It doesn’t look like some crap put into the console to tick off a box.  They probably did spend money on it and are looking for a return.  I will say since MS started last gen with a headset, they pretty much set a tradition so the expectation would be that the X1 would also include a headset.  This is probably the main reason they decided to go ahead and eat the cost more than because Sony decided to include a 2 dollar headset with their console.

If MS is to blame for not including a headset with the X1 then I believe Sony should be given enough flack for including a crappy headset with their box just to tick off a list of features.

I think the PS4 headsets are garbage too, but luckily for me Sony allows the old headsets to carry over to the new console. Its not understandable why MS didnt put it in the PS4, all we know is Sony set the example and they followed, case closed and its a nice headset too.

You can thank MS for putting it in the 360 because I highly doubt that we would have seen one in the PS4 if not for that small effort on MS part.  Everything we see are reactions to the competition between the 2 companies.  I thank both companies for being in the market and I thank MS even more for making Sony change their ways and be competitive and hungrily seek consumer and developers approval.  MS has been humbled and they now have the eye of the tiger back and as long as both companies seek to outdo one another, I as a consumer will be well pleased with both products.

So you're back to giving Sony a free pass.

And Sony bundled headsets with their most serious online game last gen. Not to mention they'd made PC and PS2 games for years prior to PS3's launch that also supported voice chat. The idea that they were simply too ignorant to realize the importance of a headset is hilarious. Almost as funny as you giving them a free pass for that supposed ignorance.

No, I am saying that its ridiculous that they can force the Kinect on us but cannot give people a battery pack in 2013? So Microsoft is the only brand going into the next gen without rechargable batteries and you're going to come up with some excuse for them? Come on Jay Wood...you're better than this. What people could've paid to buy another game, you're going to have to buy two battery packs. Im not saying agree with me but I am thinking about the majority of gamers here, not the minority.

Do not come on me.

Wha!?

Hey, we're all excited for next gen. Some of us too excited but you have to love the enthusiasm!

Sony you're implying that im not giving them credit where its due? Of course I thank them, hence why I said they know better. Each brand has something special that they do that the other one has a harder time following. Sony = Hardware, MS = OS, Nintendo= Commercialization of mascot characters.

Well the advantage of using AA batteries is you don't have to use a wire when your battery dies.

Simply replace the batters and voila, keep playing with no wires. Obviously you'd ignore that given you're "A proud member of the loyalty free gaming movement."

My loyalty remains, to the majority of gamers....its seems yours is only to the minority.

I like having the ability to swap my batteries instead of needing a wire to charge my control (a la PS3). I also use rechargable AA batteries.

I agree with you, using simple logic does make me a minority in a forum with people like yourself.

batteries are a larger expense overtime, which becomes a burden. Battery packs were created to stop the burden and charge your controller either while you're playing or while you're not. You guys can truly twist things. Bless you.

Actually that is really thoughtful. Clearly Microsoft loves us the best.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
