Illegal immigration is BS issue that politicians use to stir up their respective bases. It's like the drug war it's a political contrivance. Whenever the economy is in the toilet, people direct their ire toward illegal immigrants. The truth of the matter is the jobs illegal immigrants do are the ones the majority of Americans look down their nose at.

People need to keep their eye on the ball and realize that both parties don't do anything. They just stifle which ever side is in power. Whenever a third party comes to prominence, the Democrats and Republicans that couldn't work together for the good of our country, suddenly become complicit in eliminating that party.

As long as they come to work then Im not bothered by immigration. With an aging population we need more workers. The UK could easily handle a population of 100 million with proper planning.

It only bothers me if they come over not knowing a single word of the native language. I know they likely fled from a famine or a war but come on, learn some English! Otherwise, immigration don't bother me. What bothers me is how they are wrongly blamed for many of societies problems.

I live in a country with a high immigration rate, both legal and illegal, and our society shows the same symptoms as yours.

Racism, jokes, superiority complex, they do the jobs we don't want to, etc.

However, despite such symptoms, we still invest millions of dollars in their health care, for free; we give them free education and more.

It is my opinion that, even if my society also has the same symptoms as yours, exclusion from the system is not as strongly enforced as in yours.

But my point is that some US people think that their hate for immigrants is justified because [insert reason] and think that foreigners can't understand and etc, but nope. I know what it is to live in a country with high illegal immigration, I face it everyday.

But my society is not as nazi about it and I am happy for it. Despite the symptoms being there but we are working on them.

I am glad that some of you are not immigrant haters.

Lastly, I want to add something. Sometimes we associate certain negative adjectives to immigrants and to their entire culture, and doing so is full of prejudices, stupidity, immaturity, lack of information, false information, logical fallacies, and more.

Illegal immigration needs to be controlled, of course. However the negative aspects of it cannot be given to a whole culture.

That is different. You came to enforce your society on them, they are coming to become a part of it.

We would have to import so much more food if we had that many people. about 3/4 of the UK is used for farmland already. To have another 40 odd million people we would have to use a decent amount of that farmland for cities unless we started chopping down our remaining forests. Not like it's possible for many of them to go to Scotland, most of it is mountains or lakes. You are right that it is possible with proper planning but i think it would stretch our needs a bit in terms of food, water, energy and services and also put too much pressure on our land. 

Well I do have a problem with it, their religious preferences. They have like 4 to 8 kids or more on average and then move here because their country doesn't give them enough money to support them all. The daddy will move here with 3 uncles and 5 cousins and send all the money back there...I know because I have a Mexican friend I have been friends with for years and that's how they do it. They get free healthcare (I live in Michigan and I have seen lots of women go up to "Centreville" that's the town the welfare office is in. That's all I seen was Mexican girls rolling through there and when the average Mexican-American women has 4 to 7 kids I mean c'mon there is to many people on this earth. WHEN IS EVERYONE GONNA WAKE UP? that is the stem of all our problems to many fuckin people. CLOSE YOUR LEGS!!! sex isn't a game like playing a video game or playing basketball or hopscotch. No form of immigration angers me. Not even when they "don't contribute anything." My parents are (legal) immigrants. What angers me is intolerance for immigrants.

 We wouldn't need to build on that much more land to be honest. Currntly only 6.8 percent of UK land is built on. There is a load of brownfield sites that could be knocked down and redeveloped. Food wise we would import more but I would also imagine that people would be strongly encouraged to only buy food that they will actually eat. We are all guilty of buying a load of food and then throwing it out because we didn't eat it. Fruit and veg is usually what I end up throwing out. Japan has a population of over 100 million and doesnt have much land for farming, they have no problem feeding their citizens. Water shouldn't be a problem. As an Island if we build some desalinisation plants we won't ever be short of water.

They takin' mah jobs that I don't want yet.

Nothing against them(legal), it's the illegal ones I can't stand.
