I thought Pikmin would do a little better than that, I thought people were itching for a reason to buy this thing. I guess they really need a Mario or Zelda to jump start this car.

Pikmin 3 was a system seller for me when the console was nearing launch, now its a little too late. I've seen the state the system is in and will not be so quick tp pick it up, although I still want to play Pikmin.

Also the constant bad press, makes me want to wait for the inevitable price cut. They've missed the opportunity in which Pikmin could have made a dent (Launch window).

I'm quite sure they're waiting till the release of more popular franchises like Mario Kart or the new 3D Mario to make the price cut. I believe that's the only way to make Wii U's sales go up and maybe Nintendo will do something like this. Pikmin isn't very popular, a price cut along with it's release would work but would do little in the long-term.

PS3 hasn't went below 100k for the year. It's also the only console to sell a million plus units of software every single week so far this year.

Cmon Wii U, stay above 10k in Japan!

why did people think this? what am i missing? Was it just blind optismism? they still have US

Nobody thought it would do huge numbers but I expected it would be about 50k and Wii U 10k in Europe.

i never said big numbers, but  even the numbers you gave are a bit much IMHO.

My thinking was Japan boosted it to over 20k and Pikmin sold close to 100k, I know its more popular there but I still figured half of that was feasible.

In the US? you wouldnt be wrong to think that, but Europe doesnt seem to be feeling Wii U no matter what happens, we'll see when series that people actually give a crap about in large numbers come.

Idk I think US sales will rival Japan sales for HW and SW. But ya ur right the big titles will tell Iif there is any interest in Wii U.

I am still surprised how small the gap between ps3 and 360 in us+europe is.

o.O, why? Considering 360 has sold more in US+Europe combined this gen.

Why why? It is still surprising given that no big games are released currently and it's the oldest console this gen. It is still performing very well, even in Europe it has good and constant sales.

Btw, is there any information on where ps3 is sold and where 360? I would like to see a list of countries for both consoles on where they are sold because I always wonder why "other" has more ps3-sales than 360.
