Regarding your second question: I don't think so. There are various reasons for PS3 outselling 360 there by a considerable amount. One is that Sony does more to get sales there. Two is that Playstation has been THE platform there since forever. Combine two with one and you get a good mixture of PS domination.

I have never seen one, at least. I don't know how that strengthens your suspicion though. Even if PS3 was sold in more countries, would that somehow be a detractor? I'd call it a win for Sony, and win for gamers in those countries. Obviously they will be praising Sony if Sony brought them gaming.

I don't say it's a bad thing if PS3 is sold in more countries. But this weakens the arguments of "we have the better games, best hardware, best exclusives and that's why PS3 is selling more than 360!"-stuff and could boil down to "and yes, it is sold in 10 more countries". *could* be, of course. I could be wrong, of course.

Yes, it would be a win for gamers, but we are in a sales-thread, not in a "we have fun with gaming"-thread ;)

But do you really think that 10 small countries in Africa or Asia could be the reason PS3 sells more each week? It's obviously selling more in Europe now, and let's not even mention Japan. Meanwhile, 360 has USA and UK.

On the flip side, PS3 has been way more expensive than 360 in those smaller countries from the start.

What I meant is that you're saying that as if it's a negative. That's just MS losing out. They seem to focus way more on America.


There is no "bad" or "good" or "winning" or "losing" - just explanations for high sales. It is indeed a good thing if more countries get the pleasure of gaming, of course.

Nice week overall, good, on its small scale, for PSV, that still needs a longer lasting sales boost.
PS3 attach rate still growing, XB360 one stable, Wii's one slowly dropping, but expected, as Ninty started starving it far too early.
