I thought Pikmin would do a little better than that, I thought people were itching for a reason to buy this thing. I guess they really need a Mario or Zelda to jump start this car.

why did people think this? what am i missing? Was it just blind optismism? they still have US

the only difference is that VIta is back above Wii U but at least they are both over 30k

Is that good?

Nope. Anything less then 50k a week is pretty sad. But 30/40 is best we can expect from either system until winter.

I never expected Pikmin to do anything for WiiU. A boost for one or two weeks, I said. And I was right. In Europe especially I thought the boost would be negligible. Yet people kept telling me to wait for Pikmin (and Lego City). Now it's Mario 3D and a Zelda HD port and Donkey Kong. I honestly don't think they can turn things around. It needs a massive price cut along with the games. It would've needed Mario Kart this year.

Has there even been much of a boost for one or two weeks?  I guess the staggered release is masking it, but Wii U sales haven't seemed to be fluctuating too much.  I guess I just hear about a well liked Nintendo franchise and immediately think great sales lol, my fault.

Pikmin 3 was a system seller for me when the console was nearing launch, now its a little too late. I've seen the state the system is in and will not be so quick tp pick it up, although I still want to play Pikmin.

Also the constant bad press, makes me want to wait for the inevitable price cut. They've missed the opportunity in which Pikmin could have made a dent (Launch window).

Yeah it's going to be interesting to see what the Wii-u can do from here, it seems like it's in the same place that the Vita is right now.

Gamescom is going to be fascinating to see what happens as it seems like its the key event between now and launching and essential for all three companies.

That's actually a good point.  I don't think a major Mario is coming before the PS4/One launches and Zelda is a while away, can a price cut be too far away if things don't improve?  It would suck to buy one weeks before a cut.

a wii U game in 10th in NA?!
and is not new game...

Not according to the numbers on this site.

Nobody thought it would do huge numbers but I expected it would be about 50k and Wii U 10k in Europe.
