I doubt it. Maybe if Sony dropped the Ps4 price to 100 bucks

It's not even remotely possible. No console has ever sold 1 Million units in the week that it's released in. (Staggered releases, not sure about aligned WW sales.) The Wii hardly even did half a Million in it's week of release. How do you expect the PS4 to do anything remotely close to this?

If the launches are aligned, quite possibly. If not, no way.

well, ps3 sold i believe 550k i europe alone in the first week with a price of 599€. the whole world combined and the ps3 could have reached that already but the console released different in many markets so there is "only" the europe release as huge week with over 500k sales.

so i don't think it is anything really surprising. i said that already 100 times but it is pretty simple, playstation has a few million absolute crazy fans. you see that in every gaming forum, on youtube and whatever. those millions aren't too relevant for the whole gen because it's still only a tiny part of all console owners but they make a big part in the first weeks.

the question is how many units they will ship. they could sell even more than 1m.

At first I was going to say that is ridiculous. Then I remember, well, the Xbox 360 often does that in the USA alone during Black Friday and around the holiday time.

But with the other competition and potential price drops, I don't think it will happen.

I think it will surprise all of us.

100k in japan at launch? Really doubt it will be so low...

Worldwide? Easily. If Vita could do it then so can PS4.

And it should do a lot better than 100k in Japan. 

I think it could but I just don't see it. Every new console has hype and good preorders as ebayers look to make some extra cash but its hard to say. GTA5 will hurt it a lot of games not going next gen will hurt all 3 really. Being Wii Us second Christmas with a cheaper price point, more exclusives will also hurt it. Could surprise us all but that would go far beyond what even the best selling console have done at their launches by a great deal.
