Forums - Nintendo - I'm Pleased With the Wii U's Sales

You prefer Wii U had; no gamepad, a catchy name, a steady flow of games, and a fast OS from the start. An HD Triplet. Regular game releases is asking too much from a single publisher. Do you want a 8 core cpu and 8gb ram?

I don't think I said any of those things in my OP. Where'd you hear that from?

Also, are the points in italics bad? I thought that's actually what made a console good... guess I was wrong.

Its a shame that most of the exclusives set for first half of the year got delayed. Nintendo Land and New Super Mario Bros U did there job, which was to sell consoles during launch, but they had nothing to follow it up and we didnt get another exclusive until March (Lego City Undercover) and then after that not until June (Game & Wario). Had Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, Rayman Legends, Wii Fit U all been out by now, I think Wii U would be doing much better.

January-Pikmin 3
February-Rayman Legends
March-Lego City Undercover
April-Wii Fit U
May-Wonderful 101
June-Game & Wario

Thats a decent looking line up and I think Wii U sales could be around 5 million if those games werent delayed. One of thing is the Deluxe bundle should have been $299 and never have released the Basic.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

I look for sales to pick up when games start coming out. Pikmin 3 helped in Japan after all and that has actual data to back it up.
Some of your comments are clearly ban worthy. Stating unreleased games have already come to late is baseless with no merit. You cannot provide proof to back up a claim that unreleased games had no impact when they aren't out yet to see what impact they do have.

People justify trolling all the time. Doesn't make it excusable.
If I pointed to Sony selling their own HQ, studios closures, stoke going to junk status, as my reasoning behind Sony going 3rd party I would still be banned. Some of us don't get the chance to state why we believe something or defend our position, they are just dismissed out right.
I haven't said a single thing about Sony that cant be backed up with actual facts yet I have still been banned and gotten some extremely childish and immature messages/comments from the mod.

Bias people are just never able to see bias..

Are you saying that I'm biased against Nintendo?

Because that is definitely true.

No not that. However go start a Vita thread saying the exact same thing because of its sales and see how long you last even though such an article would be easy to make especially if the person gets to make things up like you have here.

Btw you are openly admitting to enjoying seeing a console do poorly... If that isnt bias my friend I dont know what is. Like I said biased people cant see it.

I don't think anyone can be pleased. It's possible to not be disappointed or surprised, because Nintendo brought this upon themselves. They have no one but themselves to blame.

If Nontendo sorta release games and sales still don't improve, then we can enter panic mode. Right now, Im just anxious about the future of the system.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I don't get the hubub. 160K units shipped in a quarter is poor to say the least, but all three of the gen 8 consoles launched so far have staggered out of the gate. Console manufacturers are just pushing hardware out too early and they're paying the price.

  1. The 3DS: Launched at the right time, but at the wrong price point. Nintendo fixed that.
  2. The Vita: Launched between six months and a year too early. The price point was solid, but the memory is hilariously overpriced.
  3. The Wii U: Launched with the right price six months too early. Nintendo's first party IP needed longer to adjust to the new hardware than planned.
  4. The PS4 and XB1: Probably launching a full year too early. The PS3 in particular still has real legs in the market, and both older have vibrant used game markets which will undercut the new consoles on price point.

I'm neither disappointed nor surprised, though. Nontendo get what they get. They weren't ready, and they deservedly have bad sales. When you have nothing lined up, you won't get lines for your console.

Maybe next time, they release their console with the lineup next to it rather than a year after or even release with the games that sell Nintendo consoles. N64 launched with only 2 games but it didn't matter as the 2 were Super Mario 64 and Pilotwings 64 and a lot of it's best games came only months later. Huge difference to what the Wii U is.

You're neither disappointed nor surprised, because you are pleased. But I don't see how you can be pleased, as I said. The sales don't hold much promise for the short term future, and cast doubt on the long term potential. Not only that, but 3rd parties will see the floundering sales figures and not support the system (or even less), which makes the situation even worse.

Saying they weren't ready is true, and sad. But how can any of that be pleasing?
