I've been banned many times for saying certain things about Sony, yes. I wouldn't complain about this if others who did the same with Nintendo (like you with this thread, which is worse than what I did in some cases) got banned either. But they aren't. I got a thread stored somewhere on my computer with proof of this and when I get banned again for the smallest anti-Sony statements I'll publish it. The Mods of this site are indeed somewhat Sony biased.

I want to let you know that the Mods on this site have been accused of being biased to not one, not two, but three companies. Guess which companies they were? Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft.

The Mods have all been accused of being biased to certain companies. They've heard it a lot.

Also, my thread explains my reasoning as to why I think this. I'm also not bashing Nintendo, I'm being critical of them.

I think it just reconfirms what they already knew and were probably expecting....that they aren't going to sell much hardware until more of their own software is available. When the games come, the hardware sales will pick up. Maybe not as much as some people are expecting nor as much as Nintendo is hoping, but the hardware sales WILL improve as Wii U receives at least two solid games per month (most of which are first-party) from August thru December.

Also...people need to realize that 160,000 for the quarter is the "shipped" number. They SOLD more than that during the quarter...but they had over-shipped earlier in the year and back at the end of last year (especially in Europe) and so they needed to ship very little to meet the low demand.

Very true. But the problem is that may be too little, too late. Nintendo had the opportunity to set a high bar for their competition by being the first with a new console. They missed that chance and now their main competitors have the opportunity to do some major damage to them.

True with the shipped totla, but that doesn't mean they sold 160,000 either. They could ship 160k consoles and not sell a single one (in theory). The understanding is that the number shipped generally reflects the relative sales. There's no data showing they sold even 160k units in Q2 (yet).

I think a Zelda launch game would've really helped Wii U as Zelda was a great help for the original Wii.

I think that Nintendo does not deserve these kind of sales because the punishment has still not taught them anything.

Are you referring to the 3DS? Because it never did as horribly as the Wii U is.

I sure hope Nintendo learns from their mistakes!!

While their big newer titles are being developed they should have a smaller team working on making all Wii games digital on eshop. That and possibly making an "HD Remastered collection" of classic titles just like they are doing with WW.

As much as I enjoy NES/SNES games, I want to see N64, Gamecube and Wii games all on eshop!! I didn't buy an HD console only to play 8-16 bit games on tv/gamepad. Their digital content seems to be added just as slowly as their retail titles.

Oh well, hopefully things change in the next few months with better, more appreciated Nintendo titles.

If I'm referring to the start, then yes. Iwata himself said that they learned their lesson and just brought out more 3rd party games which is what exactly happened with the 3DS. Everything beside Nindogs and Pi'llotwings was third party. Then there is the point that 3DS is pretty much the only relevant system in its market, while Wii U isn't.

Do you think that Nintendo won't look at 160k Worldwide shipments and think, "Hmm... maybe we are screwing up everything somewhere around here..."?

I could almost agree to that as Iwata's promises mostly seem to float down the river without any thought... recently.

I hope they just relaunch the damn thing this fall with a big promo, price cut, and bite the bullet and call it ""Wii 2""

From a doom perspective, I'd have preferred 10x the Wii U sales but a reported loss. Every quarter they post profit, accounting trick or inflation or whatever, is another quarter Iwata stays President.

They're not going to get rid of Iwata. The way the company and shareholding is structured, a revolution is highly impossible.

Iwata could be forced aside, but it would be by someone very similar from the Board of Directors (like the guy who used to be President of NoA who they brought back to Japan, possibly for the purpose of being ready to move in if Iwata is forced out)
