That was my favorite part of SSB on the Wii. I really suck at multi-player. I love Nintendo and Brawl was like a love letter to Nintendo with all of the content. Looks like there's one less reason for me to be hyped up for the game.

There is still going to be an "Adventure" Mode. Read ConeyG's post.

I'm going to correct you before this spins out of control. It'll have a story mode, so please correct your error:

http://nintendoeverything.com/sakurai-confirms-single-player-campaign-for-smash-bros-wii-u3ds/

“There will be a single player [campaign], but it won’t be like the [Subspace Emissary] mode in Brawl. One thing we can do with the Smash Bros. series that’s unique to us — because we have all these different disparate characters brought together — is we can create that sort of fan-movie experience as a special gift. But now those things are posted on the internet, it doesn’t really become a gift for people who played the game.”
“What we decided this time around, we’re just going to have [those movies unlocked] from the beginning. We’re going to have a movie for Wii Fit Trainer, The Villager and Mega Man and they’ll be viewable right at the beginning, you can watch those right away.”

Isnt that the same as Arcade mode for every fighting game?

I always looked at Arcade mode and Story mode to be different things o.o.

I don't think so, because Brawl had Arcade mode as well. If that was the case, why not just say "like the Arcade mode in Brawl"?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I meant the game devs, not specifically Nintendo. Just saying Nintendo as a general term, as all their games suffer from this similar developmental hell. They just can't produce the games in a timely fashion. That is the essence of what I'm saying.

Nintendo games go through lots of polishing, and due to their habits they tend to keep extending deadlines so that nothing is horribly wrong when the game releases.  I think it's a good practice, because I'd rather have a game late than a game that isn't promised to have at least been polished.

There would be no reason they can't pull off the CG for the 3DS.  Just look at Resident Evil: Revelations' CG scenes.

it wont look the same as WIi U

The only difference will be resolution.  It has nothing to do with power.  CG doesn't require a super-powerful engine or hardware.

fair enough, its just a theory. I dont think that series needs CG anyway, very few fighting series do. THe only one that pulls it off real well is Tekken, but that has a heavy lore anyway

DOnt think Brawl's online mode got the memo

To be honest, I have never used Brawl's online mode.  However, I did use Kid Icarus: Uprising's online and I think it works great.  So... I dunno.

I've never used Brawl's online mode, either....because I could never get an online match to connect.  The few times I tried, I just wound up punching a bag for a really long time.

Mario Kart Wii's online was superb, though.

Well Sakurai, we have seen the Villager, Megaman, and Wii Fit cutscenes online already!

I would have loved another Subspace with stages based of of character worlds but whatever. As long as there is some kind of single player experience. I can't play Free For All all the time Sakurai. I think we won't get the cutscenes because 3DS can't handle it.

No, Sakurai said that those cutscenes will be in the game.  I also don't get what's up with "3DS can't handle it."  You could actually watch those cutscenes on the 3DS through the eShop.
