Fire Emblem? WTH? Want do you mean characters dont die? They do die, only like a couple of characters leave the field cuz of the plot cuz they cant die to progress story. Classic mode? That one easy beginner mode if thats wat your talking about is in one FE game, and i dont even think 20% of users use that mode. Nintendo lets studios do wat they want, look at Bayo2. Everything with nintendo isnt a kiddy game or in some people's case downgraded from Mature games. RE Revelation was the best RE of 2012 (this includes a main game RE6) and they didn't take away deaths/blood/zombies/etc. If nintendo did acquire them, games like Persona will remain the same. TBH i rather them stay third party since Persona=Sony and SMT=Nintendo, but if nintendo gets them then buy a 3DS/WiiU to play their games

Oof, sorry I rustled your jimmies tbone to the point where you're insulting my gaming skills. (FYI I'm playing awakening on insanity mode with character deaths on)

Secondly, I didn't say nintendo makes everything kiddy. I said they aren't as dark. I'm not saying there's cause for alarm. But there just isn't a lot of similaritiy between the companies. I'm not saying nintendo would change anything, but more likely just not pick them up in the first place.

my jimmies are a little rustled!!! TBH i type that up without re reading it O.o My badddd!!!!!!!!!!!! I think we are underestimating Nintendo, they need a more hardcore audience hence i dont see a change for games Ex: Bayo (i kno they dont own Platinum) or RE, Even Persona imo! But hey i guesss we'll all see in the near future wat Atlus's Future will be right?

I still think NIS should buy Atlus if they have the money.

I'm pretty sure NIS is smaller than Atlus.

They definitely are smaller, though they are private so who knows what they do have onhand (probably not enough).

But they have a similar philosphy to Atlus and would be a good fit.

Hmm, I sorta like the idea of Tecmo Koei.  They have been great with Gust (letting Gust make their games, their way).

Hell, even Bamco has been halfway decent lately with Tales (early this gen I really thought Bamco just plain hated the idea of making money)

Namco Bandai already have the Tales series (which actually may be close to surpassing SMT in terms of popularity with the modern Japanese audience). It isn't likely even for the SMT franchise that they would bother trying to absorb the whole of Atlus to get it. Although of all the Japanese publishers they probably would be perfect since they have been the most diverse in their releases and have the cash flow thanks to the Bandai connection to do almost anything they want.

Don't know how Tecmo Koei's financial situation is but I personally don't think they would be that stable. I mean they don't even seem to be able to keep any of their non-Dynasty Warriors based franchises in good standing these days what would they do with SMT to strengthen it or one of its spinoffs.

Resident evil remake, eternal darkness, metroid, mgs twin snakes, fire emblem, golden sun, xenoblade and more would like a word with you.

Your bias against nintendo makes for a poor partner. Give us an example of nintendo buying a studio and dumbing down their franchises to appeal to kids.

nintendo doesn't own any of those developers, and fire emblem is nowhere near as dark or "EMO" as persona or smt.

Fixed that for you, since besides the setting you can't really say a game franchise that has featured stories involving child murders, rape, heavily incest and god killing as far back as during its SNES games in 90s can't be called edgy. It is more traditional in terms of usually being fantasy, war and sometimes medieval political themes while SMT deals with post apocalyptic, philosophical and moral themes and Persona deal with modern settings, psychological and mysteries.

Yeah, I think Nintendo shouldn't buy Atlus. P4G did well on the Vita so P5 would do just as well, right?

or, you know, Persona 5 can let the 3DS/WiiU obliterate what's left of the Vita or something XD

I hope not..

I want Persona 5 to have PS4 graphics lol

It can go to the Wii U but NOT exclusively

PS4 graphics?  You've got to be kidding.

They haven't even had one with PS3 graphics yet.

For a very good reason.  Persona/Shin Megami Tensei games have just way to many sprites for the various monsters.

Prtdona+ PS4 graphocs = Mega loss in the making.

Heck look at Shin Megami Tensei PS3.   Announced at launch, and abandoned shortly after and never released.

I dont even care lol

I want PS4 Graphics DAMMIT!!

Correction Nintendo owns Monolith Soft - Intelligent Systems is financially independent from Nintendo much like Hals Laboratory :)

I would actually like Nintendo to buy Atlus. I think the only people who dont want Atlus to be bought up by Nintendo is all the Persona fanboys. While Persona is one of my favorite series of all time, the series wont end, and it also was never exclusive to Sony in the first place. If you guys really did like Persona that much, then you would have no problems at all buying a Wii U or 3ds, whichever system it comes out on.
