so i have read several reviews. so the main complaints are:

1. No co op and online
2. low res textures on the floor
3. tad short

Other than that it is looking very good. Most have lauded the charm of the game. I am so hyped. I can't wait till i review it.

Pretty much. Here is my response to these:

1. There's co-OP in the challenges and the Bingo Mode, so that's enough surely? Also, there's online leader boards...

2. The low res floor textures are frustrating, but the character models and flora make up for it, certainly.

3. I'm seeing numbers like 10-15 hours to blitz through the story being knocked about, another 5 if you get everything. 20 hours, excluding the 16 challenges on unique maps in a game which is designed to be replayed is fine by me.

So yeah. Those faults are nothing for me.

they are minor quibles, to say the least.

Personally, Im going to enjoy the game regardless of the miniscule scratches to the paint. Overall, i do believe this is another success for Nintendo - Pikmin 3 oozes qaulity and fingers cross that the game receives good sales.

Word of advice for fans don't go to the ign comment section of the pikmin 3 review - trolls are going overtime (more so than usual) to downplay the qaulity of the game.

New review - Spieletipps.de - 91%. So good *_*

Yeah, that comments section is dreadful. It's what is wrong with a lot of gamers and gaming sites nowadays:

"EWW, this game doesn't feature guns or muscly men and instead features colours and flowers, it must be a kiddy game for kids and Im too old for that!"

The upcoming generation of gamers, I.e. those around 13-16, will likely miss out on so many great games because their opinion of a hardcore game is Call of Duty

...I really don´t get why these reviews mock Pikmin 3 for the "lack" of online and co-op...games shouldn´t be reviewed with a checklist...this behaviour leads to completely undesired multiplayer options, which nobody wants (Tomb Raider says Hi) and are a responsible for the ballooning costs of "AAA" (I hate the term) games (among many others of course)....
..oh well, 87 is a great score nontheless...

I should get my copy tomorrow and I am prepared to get disappointed.

No co-op for the campaign, is that right? Nintendo really knows how to make me hate the moronic Gamepad decision even more.

That's correct, and I don't think it has anything to do with the GamePad. Because the other modes are multiplayer and that includes someone using the GamePad.

Pit is odd, though. There's 3 captains, so why not have mulitplayer?

The only disadvantage is that ground. And coop story mode would have been nice... with quite a few coop Wii games, why are WiiU games single player orientated?

My pre-order was dispatched yesterday! I can't wait... Hope it doesn't get lost on its way here (like ZombiU did...)

There should have been co op and online. There just should have been. I am sure that it will be fun either way, but this is just the kind of game that would go great with online co op or something.

I can get coop in the story, but what exactly would online add to a game like this?

People expect online these days. And each time that nintendo does not add it, people talk.

And it's that expectation that leads to a worse game. Tomb Raider and The Last Story are two good examples. Online added nothing, and arguably the money and resources could either have been saved, or used to improve the main game.

Even when it's done well, like with The Last of Us, it isn't needed. Could The Last of Us have been longer, looked better or had more going on had resources not have been used online? Perhaps.

Also, I very rarely play online in a coop manner, because you lose that joy of cooperation with your friend sat next to you. NintendoLand wouldn't be half as fun, were it online. And yet people complained about it, why? Because they expect it, as you say. Not because it would add to the package, but because people expect it. And that's a bit sad.

Also, we're up to 88 now, 22 reviews in!

Looks like you could get your wish anyway, Spurge. DLC is on the way, and people are campaigning for it to include online co-OP:
