Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft Lift London has four new games in the works, will "redefine triple-A"

nice to see MS is trying to do something in this regard, but I wouldn't exactly call it redefining or innovative at this point. Several games already showed xplat capabilities at e3. And I'm sure there are already games out there doing something along these same lines for pc/mobile f2p gaming.

I was very impressed with the "4 AAA new IPs" until I realised they were free to play and a lot of the focus seemed to be on mobile.

Wow, I fell asleep reading that shit. I was expecting something with more awe from reading the title.

LOL. Ya I woke up half way through. Usually Nsanity has some great articles.

Hi MS, I prefer to have 4 new AAA retail games rather than 4 F2P games. Please be understood!!!!!

Reminds me of when EA said Dead Space 3 would be the first Quadruple A game.

You have to remember they were comparing it to other games in the 3rd Gen!

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Last time, they said: "We will kill Sony at E3".

Well,we know what happened.

well sony won with cheap shots.  if it was just about games microsoft showed nothing but games.  and i dont care if people navigate to their corner on this it is what it is.  sony no drm was a kick to the nuts and then $399 was akin to kicking them when theyre down.  so really your position is nothing to be jovial about.  if ms wouldve said no drm and the price wouldve been close to the same sonys e3 wouldve just been the lackluster event that it was.

Considering that didn't happen, what's your point exactly? And Microsofts game lineup was hardly massive enough to "kill" Sony regardless. Hell, half the exclusives that Microsoft announced, that I'm even interested in, are simply console exclusive to the Xbone and I'll be picking them up for the PC.

lol I love how people discard the possibility of f2p to be AAA games.... the business model while old.... has really been maturing in the recent years and could give birth to excellent ideas and products...
especially since with f2p more of the money people spend through micro transaction goes back to the dev....
me I really believe that formula could work with some smaller studios, they could spread development into stages after release, do dlcs along the growth of the community and serialization for story driven titles, many things can be done to generate revenue in F2P while keeping a high level of quality

ONE Studio working on FOUR triple-A games at the same time?

...i guess he is right, they will HAVE to redefine what triple-A means

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
