I hope Nintendo can sort things out, I really don't want them exiting the home console market.

I agree. However, a big marketing push isn't needed if they do small, incremental and most importantly very good commercials to begin with. Make people want their consolens/games, and make them know what the consoles are, cause many still doesn't know about it.
But we saw it with Kid Icarus Uprising that if Nintendo want's, they sure can market the heck out of a game, and the sales will show the results. I'm just hoping they will do the same with X. |
With the Wii U, a big marketing push is needed though. The console will need a year until the doom predictions will die.

So, Nintendo wants to lose money. The game is coming out in a few weeks in Japan/Europe/Australia and no marketing! Nintendo's marketing team needs to be FIRED. |
It isn't easy to admit, but I agree. The marketing team has no idea what they are doing anymore. No ads for Nintendo products anywhere. No TV ads. Just nothing. Their big franchises don't need any advertisement besides the word of mouth, but the marketing teams seems to have forgotten that not all of Nintendo's franchises are this big >:{

What's the point of them publishing their games if they are gonna bomb? Nintendo needs to get real with the marketing. That's the reality. |
I was not adressing your OP in my post. I was just lashing out at the misinformation in the post I was replying to.
Of course it's a shame that Nintendo aren't advertising their game. Nintendo has failed with a lot lately. Maybe they think Bayonetta 2 can do better, or they're just not interested in advertising others' games even if they publish them? Either way they are in the wrong.
It's even more perplexing considering how they marketed Monster Hunter Tri...
I LOVE ICELAND!
I really feel bad for Platinum games. They are supporting the platform which is in desperate need of support and that's how Nintendo handles things..
Kinda off topic but I am extremely pissed off with their views on region locking aswell.. I kinda secretly want them to crash and burn a little bit in order to learn a lesson..

This has nothing to do with big publishers who can market their own games. You think Rockstar or Activision need Sony or Microsoft to advertise their games? Get real. EDIT: Also, Platinum is a small third party. Always was. Nintendo saved them by offering to publish their games. Especially Bayonetta 2. |
So you pick up a struggling developer, make them make a game - just so you can smuggle a few more exclusives to your console, and then let the company burn out?
Lol, what you just stated in their defense, is even worse behavior. Parasitic almost.

I hate to use this phrase, but " Nintendo is partying like is 1990".

That's what I hate. They can, but they don't want to.

Yea, if those don't do well, then the alarms go off.
Although, despite the backlash of another pair of 2.5D games (instead of a more 3D Mario Galaxy type game), these games will likely do well. They will probably be fun too.

And I like the idea of W101 as a game using NPC toys. Should have been the priority from the start, seeing as Pikmin 3 is right around the corner too. |
agree.
p.s. the gif on the top is great!!!
