Hey, don't forget Donkey Kong's fur actually looks like fur this time. Since they even raised the development cost for the fur it must be an extremely important feature

0.o is that for real?

Hahaha if making fur raises dev cost I can't imagine what a photo-realistic game cost to make.

DK's fur also looks like this in Mario&Sonic: Winter Games and SSB4 on the WiiU. I think they'll just re-use the model throughout all games DK appears in, which should make the costs bearable

You can already see it's not the same model; none of the other games featuring DK have fur as high quality as DKC:TF.

That said, and I see this as someone whose most anticipated game on any platform right now is Tropical Freeze, the fur and the water are the only graphically impessive elements. The rest just looks like DKCR in HD. It won't stop it being an amazing game, but Retro are definitely not putting all that much effort into graphics. It's their first game that doesn't push its system.

               Metroid Prime 2  didn't really look that much better than Metroid Prime in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure the fur in Mario&Sonic WiiU and SSB4 WiiU looks exactly the same, but I'm not going to argue about screencaps from compressed video footage with you :D

My problem is that Nintendo kicked ass in the 80´s doing stuff that were relevant to the 80´s.
Then, they kicked ass in the 90´s doing something cool for the 90´s.
Then they did a ok job in the N64 and Gamecube era.
Then they destroyed with the Wii, 98 millions sold, doing god-knows-what, but with an billion dollars idea that captured the hearts and inds of the casual market.
Now, they are kinda lost. They are trying to win without a idea and doing something that was relevant in the 90´s
I am not saying that it will fail, it is just odd to me. But, I have been wrong before about Nintendo and THEY NEVER operated in the red before, Sony and MS lose money all the tie, Nintendo never did.
So, in all this chaos, maybe there is a genious plan that I cannot understand;

               It's too early to judge. Besides games like Mario 3D World, Zelda U, Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros 4, DK Tropical Freeze are all gonna sell out so I think Nintendo will be fine.

It did have better textures and lighting. But the point is, Prime 1 and 2 pushed the Gamecube. Prime 3 and DKCR pushed the Wii. DKC:TF does not push the Wii U.

They will be just fine, and turn a profit, which is the main objective to survive. Also, Mario 3d land wa a super solid game, really amazing. I dont get the love you guys have for Smash bros, but they will be ok.

        Eh.  Retro is most likely  working on an other title and that  one is most likely  going to push the system. Besides Tropical Freeze is a great looking game.

            I love Smash Bros ( even Brawl to an extent) because how fun it is. Specially multiplayer.  It's  different from all the fighting games out there like Tekken, Street Fighter, Dead or Alive, BlazBlue and so on.
