NVIDIA has released a brand new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready 441.20 WHQL driver provides the latest performance optimizations, profiles, and bug fixes for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
In addition, this driver provides optimal support for the new VR title Stormland. Furthermore, adds G-Sync support to the Acer XB273U, Acer XV273U, and ASUS VG259Q monitors. As such, the list of G-SYNC Compatible displays increases to nearly 60 options.
This driver also packs some fixes for Red Dead Redemption 2, The Surge 2 and Quake 3 Arena.

Crytek releases free Ray Tracing benchmark “Neon Noir”, works on both AMD and NVIDIA GPUs

Crytek has just released a free ray tracing benchmark based on the ray tracing demo of the same name, which was made available as a video at GDC 2019. As you may have guessed, this tech demo is using CRYENGINE and works on both AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards.
PC gamers can download the benchmark from the CRYENGINE Marketplace. This demo will give a score to the user based on how their system performs rendering scenes produced by CRYENGINE’s new ray tracing feature in real-time. Needless to say that we highly recommend downloading this demo.

OpenIV now supports Red Dead Redemption 2 PC, aims to bring modding support to Rockstar’s game

The team behind OpenIV has announced that its tool currently supports the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2. Right now, OpenIV is able to open the new RPF8 archives from the RDR2. What this means is that by using this tool, PC gamers will be able to mod this latest open-world title.
As the team noted, it is now possible to harvest file names from the game itself. Just like GTA V, RDR 2 has many META, XML and PSO files that contain names of the files and archives. Furthermore, this first version most likely has a very limited database of the file names.
The OpenIV team is currently working on support for the most of the basic files. Moreover, there is no ETA on the when the next version of the OpenIV will come out.

(That's also what the sidequest is called.) Digital Bros, the parental company of 505 Games, has shared its Q1 2019 financial results. According to Digital Bros, there was a significant revenue growth in the first quarter and improvement of all financial metrics. This revenue growth was mainly thanks to the performance of both Control and Bloodstained.

What this means is that in its first month, Control generated €17.7 million. After all, Control came out on August 27th. This is without the additional income that Digital Bros received from Epic Games for releasing the game exclusively on EGS. On the other hand, Bloodstained sales amounted to €5.5 million.
Digital Bros has also stated that it expects to generate lifetime revenue in excess of €50 million from the PC version of Death Stranding. This basically means that the company expects to sell from 834K to 1 million copies of Death Stranding on the PC.

Red Dead Redemption Damned Enhancement overhaul mod resumes development

In September, we revealed Take-Two’s attempts to shut down the Red Dead Redemption Damned Enhancement mod. And today, GamingDamned announced that he has resumed development for this mod.
Red Dead Redemption: Enhancement Project aims to improve the game’s visuals via the RPCS3 and Xenia emulators. This project will bring higher quality textures, UI/UX menu elements, and in-game HUD. Moreover, there are plans for draw distance optimizations, shader and model updates, and other features.

It will be interesting to see the reaction of Take-Two, and whether it will try to, once again, shut it down. However, and after the backlash the company received over its first attempt, I believe that it will allow it. After all, the mod requires an actual copy of the game.

Come next year, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to play their games on phones or tablets by way of Project xCloud, a Stadia-like game streaming service currently being tested by Microsoft.
It's available in preview version right now for Android phones, and it's coming to iOS as well. More importantly, Microsoft also announced that xCloud is coming to Windows PCs in 2020, so if you have Game Pass, and for some reason find cloud streaming preferable to running your games locally, it'll be an option.

The new games available now are: Age of Empires 2, Hearts of Iron 4, The Talos Principle, and Tracks: The Train Set Game. Hadn't heard of that last one, but checking it out on Steam brought me right back to childhood railroad engineering.

Alexander Blade has just released a script hook for Red Dead Redemption 2. As the modder noted, Script Hook RDR 2 is the library that allows you to use RDR 2 script native functions in custom *.asi plugins.
In case you aren’t aware of, Alexander’s ScriptHook for GTA5 was used as base for big part of all released script mods. In other words, this release opens up the road for script mods.
This mod only works with Red Dead Redemption 2. When players try to connect online, Script Hook closes the game. As such, modders – and all other gamers using it – will be safe, and won’t receive any penalty.

After over eight years in development, logistics simulator Factorio will reach version 1.0 midway through next year. Developer Wube Software has announced that it will release the game out of early access on the 25th of September, 2020. In their latest developer diary, Wube reckoned with the game’s extended development cycle by deciding a change of ethos was in order. “We feel that the Factorio development is taking way too long,” said Wube’s Technology Director Michal, “The approach ‘it is done when it is done’ was serving us well to deliver a high quality product, but if we continued this way, we would be doing it basically forever.” Wube admits that the game is already polished and an immediate release wouldn’t feel like a failure, but says there are things in the game that the team would consider unfinished.

Space sim Elite: Dangerous’ latest community event is a neat sci-fi story as the Federation and Empire face off over the Golconda, a long-lost generation ship launched from Earth more than a thousand years before the game’s current time. Called The Golconda, the ship’s inhabitants are the first found alive on a lost generation ship in the game. The generation ship had long ago arrived at its destination, but had chosen to preserve itself as a closed society and never contacted the outside world. Its inhabitants first reached out to request advanced medical supplies, however, because they were facing a viral outbreak which they could not stop. The game’s player pilots leapt to the ship’s aid, delivering thousands of tons of supplies and warding off pirate attacks on shipping.

Players will be able to create levels and share them with others on any of the game’s other platforms—that’s PC, Mac, Linux, and Nintendo Switch. “Yes, the online level selection will be the same for all platforms it’s available on,” said another tweet. That's welcome news for one of this year’s most pleasant releases, a puzzler that understands and plays with the mechanics of language in a way that few others do.
