As Switch 2 owner and Zelda fan, this really temps me to wait and not play OoT remake right away, since I find sizzling in it to be really distracting due to poor AA, and instead wait for emulator that will allow for it to run in higher resolution and then use DSR to brute force better AA.

As the sicko cartoon goes: "YES… HA HA HA… YES!" That's how I feel while peering at Steam's 100 most-played games list and spotting the Next Fest demo for shopkeeping sim Probably Stolen.
A singleplayer game about sitting behind a desk and managing inventory doing that well among the other 8,000+ demos that have arrived for Next Fest? So well it's actually charting with 34,230 concurrent players?

GOG taken offline for maintenance in wake of PHP security emergency
https://www.pcgamer.com/software/security/gog-taken-offline-for-maintenance-in-wake-of-php-security-emergency/
The reveal of critical vulnerabilities affecting the PHP scripting language used in web development have led a number of major websites and services to go offline today as a precaution while they apply security fixes.
DRM-free game store GOG announced at 8 am Pacific that its site and launcher, GOG Galaxy, would be offline for "a couple of hours" for maintenance. The company did not say the cause, but it is not hard to speculate.
Recent updates
Roughly four hours after it was taken offline, GOG is back. In fine GOG fashion, it used the PHP emergency to promote its no-DRM ways, telling users, "Your DRM-free library is right where you left it."
MODS, EMULATORS & FAN PROJECTS
Bayonetta 2 Unofficial PC Port Available for Download
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/bayonetta-2-unofficial-pc-port-available-for-download/
Here comes another unofficial PC port of another Nintendo Switch game. This time, we’ve gotten an unofficial PC port of the second Bayonetta game, Bayonetta 2.
This unofficial PC port of Bayonetta 2 adds many features that make the Nintendo Switch game feel at home on PC. It offers native performance, modern graphics options, flexible controls, and support for many community mods.
The game runs as a native Windows app instead of using a Switch emulator. It rebuilds the game from your own legally dumped copy and uses Vulkan for graphics. This helps it avoid the extra overhead of CPU emulation while keeping the game close to its original design.
***Five more paragraphs***
You can go ahead and download this PC port from here (Github). As always, it does not contain any in-game assets. To run it, you’ll have to provide your own legally dumped copy of the game.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Unofficial PC Port Released
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild-unofficial-pc-port-released/
And the time has come. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are the two Zelda games that most PC fans want to play. This was already possible thanks to the Nintendo Switch emulators. But now, PC gamers can play and enjoy Breath of the Wild natively on PC, without the need to use an emulator.
This fan project brings new PC features, better frame rates, and more ways to change how the game looks and feels. It is still in early testing, though. According to its creator, you can now play through the Great Plateau.
***Six more paragraphs***
You can download the PC port from this link (Github). As always, it does not contain any in-game assets. To play it, you’ll need your own copy of the Switch game, updated to version 1.8.2.

Super Mario Kart Is Getting a PC Remaster With Ray Tracing, Parallax Maps, and True Scaling Sprites
https://www.dsogaming.com/videotrailer-news/super-mario-kart-is-getting-a-pc-remaster-with-ray-tracing-parallax-maps-and-true-scaling-sprites/
YouTube’s ‘Ahmed Hakeem’ is working on a PC remaster of the SNES classic Super Mario Kart. This PC fan remaster will add parallax maps, sprites that scale in size, and lava effects. It will even feature ray-traced lighting. And now, you can get your first look at this fan project in all its retro glory.
Super Mario Kart never looked this good. And, in a way, I prefer it over the Nintendo 64 Mario Kart game. This is my nostalgia speaking. But there is something really cool about watching this 2D sprite game with modern lighting effects. Perhaps this is the reason I enjoyed the Path Tracing Mods for Doom 1, Doom 2, Duke Nukem 3D, and Doom 64.
***filler***
But anyway, there is currently no ETA for when the PC remaster of Super Mario Kart will come out. Naturally, though, I’ll be sure to keep you posted.

Don't get hit with the BIOS update hammer for COD MW4 like my colleagues—here's how to ensure you can play multiplayer and DMZ
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/call-of-duty/dont-get-hit-with-the-bios-update-hammer-for-cod-mw4-like-my-colleagues-heres-how-to-ensure-you-can-play-multiplayer-and-dmz/
If you're itching to get your pupils up against Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on PC at launch on Friday, you should probably double-check your system is up to date. We've already had a couple of colleagues here flung against the wall of requirements with the new COD, requiring a BIOS update to play online.
That's because Activision explains that both TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are required to play any online game mode (multiplayer or DMZ). More specifically, though, you must have a new enough version of PTT (Platform Trust Technology) for Intel systems, and fTPM (Firmware Trusted Platform Module) for AMD ones.
>> By the way, players declare that DMZ is “broken”, because of a perk of an operator (link).
With BioWare dead, EA lays out its 'next chapter,' and it's pretty much as predicted: Guns and football are fine, and everything else is under the microscope

Following the shocking closure of legendary RPG studio BioWare, Electronic Arts has posted a lengthy missive laying out its plans for "EA's next chapter," which sounds very much like cuts almost across the board.
I'll spare you the corporate gobbledygook about challenging assumptions, confronting assumptions, and imagining new possibilities, and cut straight to the chase: The plan is to do fewer things with fewer people focusing on its biggest franchises.
Everyone gets a free ticket to World of Warcraft: Forever today as Blizzard stress tests the servers ahead of launch day
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/world-of-warcraft/everyone-gets-a-free-ticket-to-world-of-warcraft-forever-today-as-blizzard-stress-tests-the-servers-ahead-of-launch-day/
In anticipation of the full launch of World of Warcraft: Forever next month, Blizzard is throwing the gates wide open on the throwback MMO to stress test the servers.
Anyone with a World of Warcraft account will be able to play the 'WoW: Forever - Stress Test" client in the Battle.net launcher later today. You don't need an active subscription, nor do you need to have purchased any of the WoW: Forever special editions. All you need is some patience for what could be a bumpy few hours as people pile in.
>> The article is from yesterday, so, the stress test may be underway.
Over '30 million rounds of PvE were played' over the last week in Arc Raiders but Embark still needs 'a bit of time to understand what the data is telling us'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/third-person-shooter/over-30-million-rounds-of-pve-were-played-over-the-last-week-in-arc-raiders-but-embark-still-needs-a-bit-of-time-to-understand-what-the-data-is-telling-us/
Good things rarely last forever, as is the case with the iconic UK biscuit Happy Faces and now Arc Raiders' PvE test. We knew it wasn't going to last long as Embark announced that it would only stick around for a week, but it disappearing from the game still sucks.
I loved the PvE test, it was a lot of fun and a very nice alternative to what can be a quite intense PvP experience. I played both over the last week, and while I got better loot in PvP, it was nice jumping into PvE every now and then just to have a chill experience killing arc and running around a pretty map.
So what's next? Well, now PvE is over Embark needs to figure out whether the whole ordeal was worth it or not and whether the team should bring it back. "More than 30 million rounds of PvE were played over the testing period," Embark says in an official blog post. "This gives us a huge amount of information to analyse. As such, we're going to need a short period of time to dive into the numbers and draw out the insights."
And I'll spare all of us from a third post by sharing here the short ones:

Good for them, In my experience, many won't bother to read that the new rating is because of loot boxes and just buy it because it's just a sports game, it can't be bad.
But you know what? I'll admit my fault here, I should have such such broadly comment because things have changed and parents nowadays grew playing videogames and now, maybe even care, about PEGI and such.
