EA Sports FC 27 gets a PEGI 16 rating in Europe because of loot boxes
https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/ea-sports-fc-27-gets-a-pegi-16-rating-in-europe-because-of-loot-boxes/
European game rating agency PEGI has begun increasing its age ratings for games that contain "paid random items," a process that's seeing games initially rated as low as PEGI 3—suitable for all age groups—bounced directly to PEGI 16.
>> Good, but I doubt parents will care.

I know quite a few parents who will care, so hopefully this will have some more effect than you think it will.

Good for them, In my experience, many won't bother to read that the new rating is because of loot boxes and just buy it because it's just a sports game, it can't be bad.

But you know what? I'll admit my fault here, I should have such such broadly comment because things have changed and parents nowadays grew playing videogames and now, maybe even care, about PEGI and such.

I wonder how long the Switch 2's security and software encryption will hold out. That one is bound to stir some shit when it happens.

Welp. It seems like the answer was, two days.

The hardest first step was taken, now we wait for the rest.

So you wonder about it and it happens two days later, huh. How convenient...
