SALES & DEALS

Remedy issues an official statement about Control’s sales

Following Digital Bros’ Q1 2019 financial report, Remedy has issued an official statement about the sales of its latest title, Control. According to the statement, Remedy expects its revenue and profit to grow during 2019.
Remedy also claimed that the revenue recognition practices differ between it and Digital Bros. As such, the figures reported by the companies are not comparable.

Retro-ninja game The Messenger is free on the Epic Games Store

There's only one free game this week, because The Messenger is rated E10+ by the ESRB. (Access to "Mature" games can be disabled by Epic Store parental controls, so whenever the weekly freebie is M-rated Epic gives away a second, more family-friendly game as well, to ensure that everyone gets a game.) There will be just one free game next week too, the tile-based RTS roguelite Bad North: Jotun Edition, which despite the title is actually quite good.

xCloud game streaming is coming to Xbox Game Pass and Windows next year

Come next year, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to play their games on phones or tablets by way of Project xCloud, a Stadia-like game streaming service currently being tested by Microsoft.
It's available in preview version right now for Android phones, and it's coming to iOS as well. More importantly, Microsoft also announced that xCloud is coming to Windows PCs in 2020, so if you have Game Pass, and for some reason find cloud streaming preferable to running your games locally, it'll be an option.

Halo Reach, Flight Simulator, and Yakuza games are coming to Xbox Game Pass PC

There's a certain screenshot I wanted to use for this article, but sadly can't: The Witcher 3 is coming to Xbox Game Pass, but not the PC version of the subscription. Oh well, Halo Reach will suffice. It and a ton of other games will be available with a Game Pass PC subscription this year and next.
The new games available now are: Age of Empires 2, Hearts of Iron 4, The Talos Principle, and Tracks: The Train Set Game. Hadn't heard of that last one, but checking it out on Steam brought me right back to childhood railroad engineering.

Script Hook & Native Trainer released for Red Dead Redemption 2, allows you to do A LOT of things

Alexander Blade has just released a script hook for Red Dead Redemption 2. As the modder noted, Script Hook RDR 2 is the library that allows you to use RDR 2 script native functions in custom *.asi plugins.
In case you aren’t aware of, Alexander’s ScriptHook for GTA5 was used as base for big part of all released script mods. In other words, this release opens up the road for script mods.
This mod only works with Red Dead Redemption 2. When players try to connect online, Script Hook closes the game. As such, modders – and all other gamers using it – will be safe, and won’t receive any penalty.

Bleeding Edge’s closed beta and release date revealed

Ninja Theory’s new multiplayer title will be shown on X019, which is Microsoft’s biggest event of the year. According to Microsoft Store Bleeding Edge will be released on March 24th. On February 14th and March 13th two closed betas will take place, for anyone who pre-ordered the game and also for Xbox Game Pass members.

Wasteland 3 releases on March 19th, 2020

Microsoft and Rare have announced a new game during the X019 event, called EVERWILD. Unfortunately, we don’t know much about this title. Microsoft has not revealed any additional details other than its announcement trailer.

Microsoft and Obsidian Entertainment have announced a new title at X019. Grounded is a new survival game with a small twist. Or at least that’s what Microsoft claims. Basically, think of it as Fortnite (not Fortnite Battle Royale) in which the main players have been shrunk.
