25- Takashi Iizuka ( born 1970). He is known for being the producer of recent Sonic games. He started as the designer of Sonic 3 & Knuckles a personal favorite, then he moved to Nights into Dreams, Sonic Adventure, ChuChu Rocket, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, Sonic Colors, Sonic Generations and now he is producing Sonic Lost World which is looking dope. I thank him for reviving Sonic.

24- Yu Suzuki
( born June 10, 1958). The Sega Arcade master. This man worked on Afterburner, Virtual Cop, Out Run, Space Harrier, Virtua Fighter, but he loved because of Shenmue which was one of the most revolutionary games of its time. It costed a bunch of money and the final result was amazing. Poor man is trying to get the rights to make Shenmue 3. I hope he succeeds.

23- Will Wright
( born January 20, 1960). This man created some of the most famous franchises ever like SimCity, The Sims and Spore. While some of you may hate those, you can't deny the impact they had. SimCity was the first game of its kind DONE RIGHT, The Sims is still being played today and Spore was nothing like anything I ever played. He was an inspirational man.

22- Katsuya Eguchi ( born May 13, 1965). While he is known for being the producer of the  Wii U and Nintendo Land, this man also worked on Yoshi's Story, Wave Race, Animal Crossing, Mario World, Mario 3 among others. Pretty great Nintendo dev.

21- Satoru Iwata ( born December 6, 1959).  Keep in mind I am talking game wise about Iwata. You guys may hate him as a CEO, but he still worked on great games. Donkey Kong Country Returns, Epic Yarn, NSMBU, Metroid Zero Mission and so on. He even produced Eternal Darkness. Pretty cool, huh.

20- Tetsuya Takahashi ( born November 18, 1966).  This man did not worked on a lot of games, but he earned my respect easily. He started by
designing the Magitek armor from the opening scene of Final Fantasy VI. He was also the graphics director of Chrono Trigger which is not a surprise since the game looked stunning for its time. This man is known however for Xenogears, Xenosaga, Xenoblade and the upcoming X for the Wii U. Xenogears wasn't revolutionary, but it offered entertaining gameplay with mechs. Xenosaga wasn't recieved as well, but it was still decent.

With Xenoblade, the man showed his  full potential. It is an open world JRPG that it is easily better than Final Fantasy 12 and 13. It had likeable characters, a great story, tons of quests, amazing soundtrack, tons of upgrades. The works pretty much. The upcoming X seems to take Xenoblade to the next level with huge enemies, huge locations, online multiplayer and the return of mechs from Xenoblade. I can't wait to see what this man will offer in the future.

19- David Wise ( born 1967). This man is known for composing the soundtracks of games like Donkey Country 1, DKC2, DKC3, Battletoads, Diddy Kong Racing, Star Fox Adventures among others. The music in DKC2 makes a lot of people happy. Just listen to Stickerbrush Symphony. Simply wonderful.
Wise is coming back for Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze for the Wii U and what we heard so far is wonderful.

18- Atsushi Inaba ( born August 28, 1971). This man touched almost every great Capcom game from the 2000s. Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Phoenix Wright, Steel Battalion, RE: Code Veronica, Okami and even God Hand. He also worked on Platinum Studios games like Bayonetta, MadWorld, Vanquish, Metal Gear Rising and now he is working on Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101.  He also used to be the CEO of Clover Studios ( RIP).

17- Warren Spector ( born October 2, 1955). Yeah,  I know you are like " What? Isn't this the guy who makes those Mickey Mouse games?". Yes, he is, but that's not why he is on the list. He is here because he worked on one of the best classic PC games ever like Ultima 4, Wings of Glory, System Shock, Thief: The Dark Project, Thief Deadly Shadows and even the original Deus Ex.  He was the designer of those games and he is loved not because Epic Mickey and crap like that. He is known because he worked on the great games I just mentioned.

16- Masahiro Sakurai (born August 3, 1970). Sakurai is a great man. He created the Smash Bros franchise which is one of  my all time favorite franchises. He created Kirby which is a great character  and directed Kid Icarus Uprising which is one of the best reboots PERIOD. He looks like a teenager despite being almost 43. Look what green tea  and rice do to you.

                 15- Hideki Konno ( born
May 13, 1965). While he is most known for the recent Mario Kart games including Mario Kart 8 which is gonna be great, this man also worked on a lot of classics like Mario Bros 2, Mario World, SimCity, Mario Kart 64, Yoshi's Story, F-Zero X among others. While he is not as known as other Nintendo devs, he still worked on tons of great games.

                 14- Grant Kirkhope ( born
July 10, 1962). I don't think this man needs introduction. He composed the soundtracks of Goldeneye 007, Banjo-Kazooie, DK64, Perfetc Dark, Viva Pinata, Kingdoms of Amalur and Cityville 2. He is also composing the soundtracks for Ninja Gaiden Z,  Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse and A Hat in Time. A genius. Spiral Mountain is a very well known classic tune.  He seems to always compose for different types of games which is want keeps him alive and relevant.

13- Kensuke Tanabe ( born January 26, 1963). He  worked on Mario 2,  A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2, Metroid Prime 3, Donkey Kong Country Returns. Punch-Out and now he is producing Tropical Freeze. I don't have anything else to say. He is a great man and an important Nintendo dev.

12- Katsuhiro Harada. This man created the Tekken franchise and also worked on SoulCalibur. Tekken has always be a great franchise and Tekken 3 is my favorite  fighting game ever. Yes, I like it more than Smash Bros Melee and Street Fighter 2. Even the recent Tekken Tag Tournament 2 offered a lot of high octane action. As far as Soul Calibur goes. I remember back in the day when I used to kick ass with Link at the GameCube version of SoulCalibur... Ah... Great times.
                11- Michel Ancel (
born March 29, 1972). The father of Rayman. He worked on most Rayman games excpet some spin off games and Rayman 3 which explained why it was so much worse than Rayman 2. He worked on Rayman Originas which is a wonderful reboot. He also worked on Beyond Good and Evil which is a magical game and I can't wait to play Beyond Good and Evil 2 as it looks awesome. I also can't wait to pick up Rayman Lgeneds for my Wii U since the Challenge App is dope. Ancel is a great man and I thank him for creating Rayman.

10- John Carmack ( born August 20, 1970). Pretty much the father of the FPS genre. Carmack created Doom which was a game that made people go ape shit. He made Wolfensten, Doom 64, Doom 2, Quake, Quake 2 and so on. Now he is working on Doom 4 and......... The Evil Within? Speaking of which.......

9-Shinji Mikami ( born August 11, 1965). This is the creator of Resident Evil. He worked on  some awesome games over the years. RE1, RE2, RE3, RE4, Dino Crisis, Code Veronica, Onimusha, Devil May Cry, Vanquish and so on. He is working on The Evil Within which is what RE6 should have been, but whatever now.

                8- Eiji Aonuma (
born March 16, 1963). The producer/director of most Zelda games. Ocarina of TIme was a ground breaking game for its time, Majora Mask was pretty dark, Wind Waker had the  unique art style and sailing, Twilight Princess was edgy, but kinda linear and Skyward Sword was linear, but it had the bird and likeable characters. Aonuma said in January that he is rethinking the convetions of Zelda with Zelda U. He is making the series less linear which is something AWESOME. I hope it happnes. Aonuma is a gifted man and I know it can happen.

7- Hideki Kamiya ( born December 19, 1970). He worked on a lot of games. He created Dante. Not the emo one. He worked on RE2, Viewtiful Joe, Okami, Bayonetta, RE Zero. He is an awesome man. Viewtiful Joe is a 2D beat em up like none other. Okami was an action adventure game like none other. Bayonetta took the Devil May Cry formula to the next level. Wonderful 101 is Pikmin on crack. He may act dumb on Twitter, but that doesn't change the fact that he  made a ton of great games.

                6-
Takashi Tezuka ( born November 17, 1960).  He pretty much started along with Miyamoto with the Mario games. He worked on Mario World, Mario 64, Mario 3, Yoshi's Island, Luigi Mansion, Star Fox 64, Pikmin 1 and 2. A LEGEND. A FRICKIN LEGEND. Not as big as Miyamoto, but still a legend.

5-Koji Kondo ( born August 13, 1961). He composed songs for most Miyamoto games. Mario 1, Mario 2, Mario 3, Mario World, Mario 64, Star Fox, Star Fox 64, Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Skyward Sword, Mario Galaxy, F Zero X, etc.. He pretty much composed one of the most popular phone tunes which is the original Mario tune. I respect a lot for what he did. The best composer easily. Without him Nintendo wouldn't be the same.

4- Hironobu Sakagutchi (born November 25, 1962). The face of Final Fantasy. Ever since he retired from Square, FF has never been the same. NEVER. Sad I know. He worked on pretty much every Dqaure game from the 90s. FF6, FF7, FF8, FF9, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Mario RPG, Parasite Eve and so on. In recent years he directed the awesome Blue Dragon, the fun Lost Oddysey and the unique The Last Story which is like Sakagutchi's take on the FF franchise indirectly since he didn't like FF10 turned out. A legend.

3- Hideo Kojima ( born August 24, 1963). The creator of Metal Gear Solid. This man REINVENTED the stealth genre with Metal Gear Solid. Every stealth game tries to be like it. Gameplay wise MGS blow people away with its 3D gameplay and large cutscenes that explained the huge story behind the games. Solid Snake is now one of the most popular characters ever thanks to Kojima's work. He also worked on Zone of the Enders which was an awesome action game featuring mechs. He is working on the 3rd game finally. After 10 years.
Other than that he also worked on Policenauts and Snatcher which were some cool visual novels for their time. A legend again.

                 2- Keiji Inafune ( born
8 May 1965). The father of Mega Man. This man touched most of Capcom's great games. Onimusha, Ducktales, Shadow of Rome, Breath of Fire, Dead Rising, Street Fighter 4, Ghost Trick and most of the RE games. What makes me sad is how he really wanted to work on Mega Man Legends 3, but Capcom had to suck and not allow him to do that. He left Capcom and now he worked on Soul Sacrifice for the Vita. He also working on Ninja Gaiden Z which is looking dope. I hope the  best to this man and I hope he may touch a Mega Man game before he dies...

                 1- Shigeru Miyamoto (
born November 16, 1952). VIDEO GAME GOD, GUYS. HE IS THE VIDEO GAME GOD. He created Mario, Zelda, Star Fox, F-Zero, Pikmin, Kid Icarus, Donkey Kong, Wario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi and pretty much every video game/character that we love from Nintendo.  He is the Walt Disney of gaming. The only bad things he ever did was screw up Sticker Star. That's it. Other than that he is flawless. He was making sure back in the day that Metroid Prime would turn out well and guess what? It did. It became A MASTERPIECE.
He is working on Pikmin 3 which he says is gonna be one of the best games he ever created. That is great to hear. Luigi Mansion Dark Moon was great because Miyamoto was harash with the devs. At least the patience of the devs resulted in a great game. He is the face of gaming. He is also working on a new IP which is gonna ROCK, dude. The last new IP he created was Pikmin back in 2001. He is a legend. The face of gaming. He is the face of NINTENDO.

Wow, did you make this list yourself?

definitely respect most off those guys. that list is just missing Tetsuya Nomura and i would be happy

I take it Uematsu has simply transcended beyond your list's capabilities.

Nice list. I'd probably have Kojima at the top of mine.

My math isn't strong enough to understand that 23 = 25.

But kudos for putting Inafune almost at the top =P That man's a genius.

I agree mostly. I would likely put Newell on my list somewhere.

It says top 23 and yet it lists 25... Uematsu must just be in a league of he's own ahead of all these fools so he cant be listed

I know what Kojima did and all but that dude is too overrated

great list

Tsubasa Ozora

Koji Kondo: Without him Nintendo wouldn't be the same.
Totally agreed.
