Nothing about what Mattrick is saying sounds "normal" to me. Telling people who want a next gen console to do offline to "buy an Xbox 360" is not not something I'd consider "normal PR talk." And, judging by the vast majority of responses here and elsewhere, I'm not alone in my thinking.

Also, none of those comments from Tretton is as bad as what Mattrick has said, lately. Appluad you for the effort, though.

It doesn't sound as bad as it is today because Tretton wasn't defending an anti consumer product that has a a lot of negativity around it. If the PS3 had the same policies Xbox One has, Tretton would be making much more idiotic comments.

BUT, some of the quotes have truth to them. It isn't comprabale, really at all, to what Mattrick said. If he had said "buy a PS2" to folks complaining about the PS3's price, it would make more sense to compare.

I get you're trying to be fair, but you'd be reaching, at best, comparing those quotes to Mattrick's.

Someone high up told people to get second jobs to pay for a Ps3 though. Isnt that worse?

Was it Jack Tretton?

Not positive just remember something to that effect.

He is telling the truth though. The iPad is $500. If anything is a ripoff it is that overpriced junk.

omg, it doesn't stop. even if he'd be right he has no chance in forums - the hate is on ms and it won't stop ever, i fear.

The problem is "value" is subjective. When it came time to choose between a PS3 and X360, the choice was easy. Sure PS3 had a blueray, but I had no desire to have one. The games I wanted were on both systems, so essentially they would offer me the same value. So I picked the cheaper option. This is the problem with X1. 90% of the software is multiplat. So most things are equal, and one is $100 cheaper. Easy choice.

Ken Kutaragi, anyone?

I wasn't comparing anything. I was just pointing out to Nsanity that Jack Tretton's track record of arrogance is much worse than Don's (imo) and he didn't get fired. Every PR person will spew bullshit just to defend their company. It's nothing new.

Perhaps, and where did he end up?

Precisely!

Hmm.. Let's stop blaming Don Mattrick.. The guy just can't take a break like Kutaragi was to PS3.

I BLAME PHIL HARRISON!
