Forums - Microsoft - Don Mattrick "We're over-delivering value"

The 60GB PS3 had a value of 800$ apparently. You could have gone lower MS.

"Get a second job"

"The power of the cloud!"

"no internet?..stick with the 360"

"Kinect!"

no gamers don't look at it for gaming only that argument is becoming less and less true since the 1983 (Nintendo) era of gamers is getting in there 30's 40's gaming is just becoming a fraction of their entertainment needs now a days....
heck PS2 wouldn't have sold that much unit if it wasn't also a good DVD player for the parents at cheap price while a gaming console for the kids....
and the PS3 being the Netflix box of choice also proves that gaming isn't the only factor anymore....
one of the main reason I will be getting a XB1 early is not games at all but the rest of the box and many of my 30+ old friends that ARE REAL GAMERS and probably way more than the one around their 20's today are having the same opinion.... if it was just for games I and they have way enough games left to play on 360 and would be waiting for a lower price point if it wasn't for the non gaming part....

the term Xbox family coming next.

Our stuff's so great, you should be paying us to sell it to you for $500.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Thousands of dollars of value?

Well sure, once you add up all the used games you'll be paying full price for maybe.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

It's as if Sony and Microsoft have swapped sides

Sony now focusing on games, and Microsoft focusing on entertainment & multimedia while also being very arrogant

Not the time to be cocky Don.

I told you this guy should be fired.

If he get's fired because of his latest comments, then Jack Tretton should've been fired ages ago.

Jack Tretton made comments that could have buried the PlayStation? I hadn't heard them.

He still made stupid comments. According to Tretton, Nintendo's handhelds all offer what he calls a "Game Boy experience," something that's great as a "babysitting tool," but that "no self-respecting twenty-something is going to be sitting on an airplane with one of those."

I really wish we'd seen the equivalent of "Riiiiiiiidge Racer/Giant enemy crab".
