That is true and you know it. Microsoft bought Skype for $8.5 billion, you are bitching about $500.

Huh!?

"If someone is rich, others shouldn't complain that they're not as rich"?

No, I didn't say that. Microsoft bought Skype and Skype experience is in the center of the Xbone. Skype alone costs 8 billion. Add in the football deal, TV features and you can see why the console is actually on the cheap side for every gamer.

You are correct and i understand what you're saying. It's just the thing is, gamers didn't ask for that!!

On the other hand, somebody should really take the shovel out of his hands. The hole is deep enough now...

@Zizzla_Rachet,

That wasn't possible before the Xbox One?

Why is this such a ridiculous statement? An iPad costs like $500. So does a quality smartphone without a subscription. This console has so many features and capabilities, it's easily a higher value purchase than most other electronic devices. The way you guys try to pick apart every little statement these guys make.....it's getting quite out of hand

it's a dumb comment but at this point in the game he has to play the hand he's been dealt. it's no dumber than the things said prior to the ps3 launch.

I told you this guy should be fired.

If he get's fired because of his latest comments, then Jack Tretton should've been fired ages ago.

Jack Tretton made comments that could have buried the PlayStation? I hadn't heard them.

What comments did Don make that would burry Xbox? All I see is normal PR talk.

Jack Tretton was much more arrogant than Don. And he was kind of a dick.

"If you can find a PS3 anywhere in North America that's been on shelves for more than five minutes, I'll give you 1200 bucks for it." (Jack Tretton on the PS3 launch, 2007)

"[On 3DS] Our view of the 'Game Boy experience' is that it's a great babysitting tool, something young kids do on airplanes, but no self-respecting twenty-something is going to be sitting on an airplane with one of those," he says. "He's too old for that." (Jack Tretton, 2011)

"I would like my car to fly and make me breakfast, but that’s an unrealistic expectation." (Jack Tretton’s thoughts on those who expect backwards compatibility in future PS3s, 2007)

"[Wii] is a lollipop, and I'm too old for lollipops." (Jack Tretton, 2007)

The environment where PlayStation wins is best for this industry(Jack Tretton, 2009)

The first isn't a stupid quote and was true. He made it on January 5th and was printed in EGM which didn't release till later that month. By the time the magazine hit newstands, the PS3 was just becoming available in early Feburary. I know this because I was all over EGM early gen (subscribed, listened and watched all podcasts). At that point in time, the PS3 was still sold out. Also don't see how the last is dumb either. Of course he thinks Playstation winning is best for the industry, he's working for them.

The third and fourth are bad attempts at humor, and the 2nd is a stereotype.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

He is right in the first quote, the PS3 was flying off the shelves at the time of that quote.

The last quote also holds some truth, PS2 won and I remember that was one of the best thing that happened to gaming.

Nothing about what Mattrick is saying sounds "normal" to me. Telling people who want a next gen console to do offline to "buy an Xbox 360" is not not something I'd consider "normal PR talk." And, judging by the vast majority of responses here and elsewhere, I'm not alone in my thinking.

Also, none of those comments from Tretton is as bad as what Mattrick has said, lately. Appluad you for the effort, though.

It doesn't sound as bad as what Mattrick is saying today because Tretton wasn't defending an anti consumer product that has a lot of negativity around it. If the PS3 had the same policies Xbox One has, Tretton would be making much more idiotic comments.
